After months of research, Trip Advisor directed us towards Patara and what an experience it was! My husband and I spent 3 weeks in Asia and our day at Patara was our highlight! A reputable, informative and caring rehabilitation farm is exactly what Patara encompasses. They have saved elephants from the entertainment industry, they never release/sell the elephants and they... More

I had a truly amazing day at Patara Elephant Farm. The elephants seem to be really well cared for and loved (several mahouts with other groups would call out to say hello to my elephant Lucky). Not only do you get to bathe and ride elephants on this 1 day experience, but they also teach you how to care for... More

We had an amazing day with the elephants and Mahouts. It's a definitive 'must do' when in Chiang Mai. We went in April, therefore the hottest time of the year and it was hardwork but very rewarding. My husband is afraid of heights so didn't enjoy the riding part but did enjoy everything else. They served us a fabulous picnic... More

My wife & I both paid for the ELEPHANT OWNER FOR A DAY tour with Patara Elephant Farm. We really enjoyed the day & will never forget the time we spent with the elephants. It was good to see the elephants are cared for, they are allowed to walk around freely & the Mahoots don't use the metal spike for... More

The elephant riding was fantastic, but I'm not sure if they are well treated. The etaff was nice enough and took pictures with our camera. No extra charges.

This is far and away rated the best experience on Trip Advisor, and for good reason. Patara Elephant Farm is much more than a tourist attraction; it is an eye opening experience. They now have 51 Elephants, with 8 births on the way. I believe 18 births, with no mortalities on record since opening. These elephants are more than taken... More

Everything I could say about this wonderful experience has been said multiple times by other travellers. So I'll simply write some tips for visiting Patara Elephant Farm. In no particular order: - Wear your swimsuit to the Elephant Farm, while you could get changed there they suggest you do it at the first 'stop'. - Ladies - while you could... More

It's hard to put in words how amazing this place is. All of the elephants are so well cared for and seem genuinely happy. Having our own elephant gave a much deeper experience. It is more expensive than other camps in the area but I can't imagine a better day and its clear the money is going to an amazing... More

It has been almost 3 years since my husband and I visited Patara. It is an amazing display of love and care for these animals. Pat, his family and his staff have made it their mission to create a safe haven for the elephants of Thailand for you to enjoy and connect with. I say connect because you are paired... More
