My husband and I went to the cooking class and loved it. Our host, Yui, was really sweet and helpful. We learned many great recipes and had fun while doing it! We still make some of the recipes from our trip this past May. It was a fun atmosphere and I really like Yui's style and the way she organized... more

I can only echo all the fabulous reviews. Yui is clearly an excellent chef who knows her stuff. She also knows the science behind the cooking, and our 18 year-old son found that pretty cool! They picked us up in their retro VW van and took us back to Yui's place where we cooked in a covered area outside the... more

Wow! What an amazing day. You get great food, great company, a great recipe book and the best experience for a very reasonable price. Yui's excellent english and wonderful outlook on the food business compliment the amazing dishes that we made. We learned about techniques which would be useful in thai and even non-thai cuisine, and many new ingredients. The... more

I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to taste a little bit of the real Thailand. A truly authentic cooking experience in a Thai home with Yiu who has a real passion for food and for teaching others about it. I did it just today and enjoyed it so much wanted to write a review straight way! Have... more

Bangkok's Blue Elephant cooking class costs u at least THB3000, but there are a lot low priced cooking classes in Chiangmai! I joined the class in A-lot-of-Thai 2 yrs ago because of the good comments from some Hong Kong people. Their class costs u THB900 for 6-course only, with a colorful cook book!! The cook book even included the recipes... more

Before we came to Chiang Mai, we did some research on Trip Advisor to see which cooking class might be the best. 'A lot of Thai' wasn't the top rating, but all the reviews glowed about Yui and that made up our minds. We started with a trip around the local market - Yui guided us round telling us all... more

Roses are red Violets are blue Yui is the best thai cooking teacher that I ever knew Seriously though there are so many things that go to making a cooking class a successful for each participants. Somehow Yui knows how to bring all of them to the kitchen table. She's more than you ever imagine you'll get from your Thai... more

At A Lot of Thai, we learned how to prepare six different Thai dishes. But if you go, I strongly advise that you spend time with Yui, after the dishes have been prepared, and everyone is enjoying the food made by their own hands. Ask Yui about her past, her family, the people of Thailand, how she learned to cook,... more

One of the best days of my Thailand holiday was at A Lot of Thai. Yui is friendly, fun and passionate about food and wanting others to love it as well. I discovered all I was doing wrong with my home attempts at Thai cooking! Having a break in the middle of the day to go to the markets was... more

Sure the day was fun, the food was delicious and we've already impressed guests with our cashew chicken skills acquired at A Lot of Thai, but the really great thing about this school is Yui. She makes you feel like she's welcoming you to her home as a guest and friend, not just a paying client. You're missing out if... more
