My husband and I used active Thailand for a day tour in the chiang Mai area. We did the cycle and kayak tour and it was one of the best tours. First off I I quoted with the company on a Sunday evening to book a tour the next day. Within an hour I had a response and a confirmation.... More

I did the "Cycling the Hills of Chiangdao" bike tour in July with my family. Some parts of the route were extremely challenging and required advanced mountain biking skills, but were managed by walking our bikes or just falling a few times. Otherwise, it was an awesome experience. The scenery was amazing, and we got to see a part of... More

We took the hike and bike tour in Mae Sa Valley. Our tour guide was excellent! We had about a 2.5 hour hike then lunch by a beautiful waterfall. The company organized a hot lunch of rice and some chicken and vegetable curry. They also provided plenty of water and drinks. We brought a picnic blanket for the lunch by... More

Everything from start to finish on our 1 day biking/trekking tour was perfectly orchestrated. The tour guides showed up right on time and got us back to the city exactly when they said they would. The bikes were in great condition and they provided us with plenty of water and an EXCELLENT packed lunch which we ate by a beautiful... More

We went on a 2 day rafting trip. There lots of rough rapids as it was just after the rainy season but there were plenty of opportunities to float along the river in our out of the raft. The guides were good fun but took safety seriously and knew the river very well. The overnight stay was good fun and... More

I did a variety of cycling and hiking trips - as an experienced mountain biker, it doesn't get much better than Chiang Mai, and Active Thailand can find dozens of hidden trails through stunning jungle scenery, stopping off at the odd hill tribe village or waterfall along the way. You can choose a leisurely ride through the paddy fields of... More

This is something you should all try if you travel to Thailand. This trek takes you into what I call the real world of the locals. I was able to meet and learn about the people who are charming and in their own way very proud people. The little villages are similar yet unique as well. While the humidity is... More

Not an easy town to walk in, and unless you are used to driving on " the wrong side of the road" do not dream of renting a scooter unless you have excellent travel insurance. Limited sidewalks, street signs, lights, etc. and many Thai so cannot reAd at all so forget about getting help reading a map even in Thai.... More

We went on the cycling tour which by the description was supposed to be easy. Only part of the ride was on a paved road, the other part on a maybe one foot wide path and circuitous - really intended for mountain bikers in my opinion. My friend and I each took turns falling off the bike, but my friend... More

We did the three day Chiag Dao trek from Chiang Mai and it was the highlight of our trip to Thailand and Cambodia. Our guide, Sunti, made me feel tall (I'm 5'4", so it doesn't happen often), but, as I suspected he would, also made me look like a total wuss, striding off with his big pack on his back!... More
