Before leaving Thailand, make sure to take in a muay Thai (Thai kick boxing) match. Kawila Boxing Stadium is a great place to see such a show and the venue is open to people of all ages.

Definitely worth a visit to experience it. Provides some good entertainment and atmosphere but paying 300 baht to get in and then expected to tip the boxers etc was a bit much I thought.

We were in town when a big tournament was playing at the stadium - the winners of the matches were to travel to Bangkok for a major fight. It's quite a sight to see and would recommend purchasing a ringside ticket to avoid the very rowdy crowds in the general section. There was a lot of betting and screaming happening... More

Just a fyi, I went to this address tonight. The building has been abandoned for awhile. My cab driver wasn't sure where they moved to, just don't want some one to waste the cab fare like I did...

It was our first muay Thai experience in Chiang may, and it was very disappointing : in the middle of girls bar, no gamblers, no thaï people...there was 2 fights with youngs, not so bad, 2 good fights, and 2 totally fake fights, which was very bad played...felt ripped off..the other stadium (taphae) is much better with a real ambiance... We went there yesterday (Friday) and it was a great experience. The fights were impressive! Paid 600 THB for vip tickets and it was worth it - we sat directly in front of the ring. Beer and water prices were ok, we had fun the whole three hours.

Authentic fight for an authentic moment of discovery of Thai boxing. The show was really nice and like most of the stadium the crowd was mostly foreigners but still motivated by the fight.

If you want a fun and authentic night of fights go here. The fights here are not the staged fights set for tourists over in venues by the night market. Street food out front, basic stadium and only locals. Excellent fights. You will see many of the fighters from local clubs here. buy tickets when you get there and tuk... More

Great atmosphere, especially once everyone gets a drink down them. :) Prices are fixed and you can either purchase tickets from several shops in the bazaar area or outside the stadium (all prices the same). I would STRONGLY advise you guys to take some bug strap with you as half way through i was being eaten alive. Fights usually start... More
