Each day, our students are picked up from Chiang Mai and driven to the cookery school. On a typical day our lessons begin with a trip to a local country market, guided by our experienced cooking instructors so that students learn how to select and buy the fresh Thai ingredients that they will need for that day's cooking lesson. For many, this tour of the morning market is an unforgettable experience in itself, leaving them with lasting memories of new sights, sounds and wonderful spicy aromas, as well as a broader knowledge of Thai fruits, vegetables and spices. This experience and new knowledge is especially useful to those who want to impress their friends back home with delicious Thai cuisine. Returning to the delightful semi-rural setting of the cookery school itself, our instructors take students through every stage of the cooking process, until at the end of the session students have the opportunity to taste and eat their creations. Our students learn by doing, not merely watching, so each course is full of activity and fun.

This cooking school is the most memorable thing about our Thailand holiday for my husband, which is saying something because we spent a whole day with elephants! We were picked up from our accommodation by the owner Pom, and first taken to the markets which was educational and interesting, and not too long and drawn out like other cooking schools... More

We spent 2.5 weeks in Thailand and did lots of activities but Cooling at Home in Chiang Mai was my favorite. I had never taken a cooking class before, had only experienced American-ized Thai food, and had no idea what to expect. We were taken to a house in a residential neighborhood in Chiang Mai. Lovely front garden with a... More

I had a full day cooking class at this school and enjoyed every bit of it. We were picked up early in the morning and went to the authentic local food market used by the locals. Our host took us on a tour and explained the various items in the market. We then shopped for the ingredients we would need... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our Thai cooking class with Pom. We began with a trip to the market to learn about the ingredients that we would be using. Then went to Poms house on the outskirts of Chiang Mai, where she has an outside class room that we used. Pom showed us how to cook the dishes and then helped us... More

My wife and I (me 71, her close behind) took a one day class here in February, 2015 as part of two months independent travel in SE Asia. This was a quality experience from start to finish: transport to/from hotel, shopping in a market, cooking in a wonderfully appointed classroom and home in an open air setting overlooking farm fields... Cooking@home cooking classes in Chiang Mai are well run by two engaging sisters who first start with a very good market tour. The rural location is a gorgeous setting to enjoy your meal and the hands-on facilities are excellent. The dishes include many favourites like spring rolls, green papaya salad, delicious curries and sticky rice and mango, Tasty snacks are... More

Our teacher extraordinaire, Pomme (owner of Cooking@Home Thai Culinary Cuisine) expertly showed us how easily an aspiring "cook" can whip up appetizing Thai dishes in minutes! We started at the market for fresh vegetables, herbs & meats, live fish too ... then into her home/school in idyllic country setting set up for over 15 individual cooking stations. We each learned... This comes highly recommended, Pom is a class act. She is very knowledgable and her English is great. The school is at her home and you eat what you cook on a terrace overlooking a paddy field. Well worth it!

We started with a trip to the market . Learned about how coconut milk is made. So different types of rice and learned about many varieties of vegetables and fruits I was not familiar with. Then off to Pom cooking school. It is an open air school with individual work stations. We learned how to make four Thai dishes and... More

Pom was truly amazing. I spent two weeks in Thailand and she was probably the best part of our whole trip! She not not only teaches you how to cook a large array of Thai dishes; she also takes you to a local market beforehand and teaches you all about the produce and different Thai products. It was so interesting... More
