On a typical day our lessons begin with a trip to a local country market, guided by our experienced cooking instructors so that students learn how to select and buy the fresh Thai ingredients that they will need for that day's cooking lesson. For many, this tour of the morning market is an unforgettable experience in itself, leaving them with lasting memories of new sights, sounds and wonderful spicy aromas, as well as a broader knowledge of Thai fruits, vegetables and spices. This experience and new knowledge is especially useful to those who want to impress their friends back home with delicious Thai cuisine. Returning to the delightful semi-rural setting of the cookery school itself, our instructors take students through every stage of the cooking process, until at the end of the session students have the opportunity to taste and eat their creations. Our students learn by doing, not merely watching, so each course is full of activity and fun. « less

We booked the cooking class with our 3 children and given that it was our first cooking class in Asia were anxious how it would turn out. To cut the story short, it was a brilliant experience for the entire family and our children were the first to recommend it. Pom is an excellent instructor and with a mixture of... More

Pom is both an excellent chef and instructor, and all round lovely person. She picked us up at our hotel, drove us to the market and showed s around all the ingredients. then to her lovely home/cooking school for a four course extravaganza. She made it easy for even us novice chefs - and everything so fresh and tasty! The... More

Even if this was my first cooking class in Thailand, we where pretty surprised with the professionalism shown by them. They picked us up at our hotel, took us for shopping at the SANSAI Market, and after that, we finally arrived at the school facilities. It's true that the Classroom/Kitchen is not the most modern I've been at, but I... More

We visited on 24th February 2014. This is an excellent cookery school that any visitor to Chiang Mai with an interest in food shouldn't miss. It is around 14km from the centre of Chiang Mai and transport to and from our hotel was provided in a comfortable air conditioned vehicle. The visit to the local food market was really interesting,... More

I emailed Pom and she agreed to teach the class Khoi Soi a northern specialty that fell in love with. She was great at helping the class learn and in making suggestions for ingredients that we can find in North America. A great highlight in Chiang Mai

My first thought at seeing the price was that it seemed a little expensive for Thailand. From the moment Pom picked us up that thought did not cross my mind. Pom spoke excellent English, and explained everything perfectly well. We asked many questions, both at the market (which was a nice local market with no other tour groups there) and... More

Dear Josia, Thank you very much for your feedback. You are right that we designed our kitchen to make all open air. Because when we cook Thai food, there is lots of smoke and smell from some stir fried and some curries. Open air kitchen will make air flow and release the heat from kitchen too. Hope you enjoy Thai... More

It was refreshing to be out of the city and visit a local market quite different from other city markets. Pom named and explained the use of all the ingredients which we are not familiar with which are used in Thai cooking. Well worthwhile.
