On a typical day our lessons begin with a trip to a local country market, guided by our experienced cooking instructors so that students learn how to select and buy the fresh Thai ingredients that they will need for that day's cooking lesson. For many, this tour of the morning market is an unforgettable experience in itself, leaving them with lasting memories of new sights, sounds and wonderful spicy aromas, as well as a broader knowledge of Thai fruits, vegetables and spices. This experience and new knowledge is especially useful to those who want to impress their friends back home with delicious Thai cuisine. Returning to the delightful semi-rural setting of the cookery school itself, our instructors take students through every stage of the cooking process, until at the end of the session students have the opportunity to taste and eat their creations. Our students learn by doing, not merely watching, so each course is full of activity and fun. « less

This is the second school I attended in Chiang Mai, and by far the better of the two, for a couple of reasons. It's not a one-day school. You make 5 dishes a day, and there are different dishes every week day. Weekends cater for people who work during the week. You get a lot of face time with the... More

My wife and I took this class in 2/2012 and throughly enjoyed the experience. Our chef was informative, prepared and fun - the training materials were top grade. The surroundings were wonderful - so nice to actually be doing this at their lovely garden and home. We got to meet the family, and had time to visit after a fine... More

My husband attended cooking classes with Pom at her purpose built kitchen at her home. Were so pleased we chose her school. First, we attended the food market - she showed us the coconut milk process (which all schools do), but then proceeded to show us around the market, introducing us to all the foods we would be cooking with... Out of town in a lovely location, this cooking school is far better than others I have attended. Instruction was geared to my level of knowledge as I already knew how to make the basics. Pom and her sister could not have been more accommodating. The basic classes as well, taking place at the same time, were excellent too. My... More

She was very knowledgeable and we had a wonderful time! She was very nice and really makes an effort to make sure we had a good experience. She is a little more expensive than the others (1000 baht vs. 700 baht for most others). She picks you up and takes you to the market first and then to the school... More

Our cooking experience with Pom was excellent. I wish I could have spent more time with her to learn more. Pom led us through preparing our meal with grace and gentle humor. The kitchen and dining area are well kept and clean. Our encounter with Pom's family left us with great admiration for their collaborative efforts. Since Pom's husband also... More

Our day at Cooking at Home Thai Culinary School was really special and something I will always remember. Pom, our cookng instructor, was so friendly and easy to be with it felt like we had known her for years. The day started with a trip to a fresh market where we learnt about a lot of the ingredients used that... More

I recently visited Cooking at Home with my husband while on vacation in Thailand. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the experience. Pom and her sister were both incredibly knowledgeable, organized, and a delight to learn from. We cooked several dishes and I was very impressed by how the dished came out - they were all delicious! Am Thai and this is my first time to learn Thai cooking and I found it was fun and enhancing my Thai cooking knowledge. The place is very nice and clean. The whole process is well organized and planned out. The instructor is very good - clear communication and her recipe is really good. I like sisters' spirit of work... More

We went for the dinner course and was picked at the hotel by Pom and her sister. We set off for the local market and started receiving loads of useful information from Pom on the ingredients which we would be using to cook our dishes that evening! It was an eye-opener for us and within 20mins from the market, we... More
