I came to volunteer thinking how much help I could give only to have been helped. This beautiful gifted artist bring a joy a love when you're greeted. They're unique product that can only be made once and never copied. The president never asks for donations but admire and yes purchase these truly one of a kind shirts, scarfs and... More

Definitely worth visiting and supporting, especially since it means so much to them. Very warm and welcoming people, and some nice little handmade and woven bags, purses and other things they produce which we took home for gifts. Nice area to wander too with lots of cafes and arts/crafts places nearby.

We were staying nearby and strolling around the area, when we spotted the signs outside and went to have a look. So glad we did! This is a wonderful place - set up to provide a work environment for people with disabilities. Handlooms are used to weave pieces of beautifully coloured fabric, which are made into t-shirts, bags, scarves and... More

We enjoyed the visit to the Healing Family Foundation. Everyone there is friendly and happy. It is nice to see them in a lovely community weaving and interacting with each other and contributing. The foundation president greeted us when we visited. He introduced us to the members and told us a little about them. His son is a weaver. The... More

This place is definitely worth a visit. This foundation supports local people with physical and intellectual challenges to make and sell crafts. The artists weave beautiful scarves, bags, book marks, placemats and cards etc. Each one is truly unique, unlike the mass produced tems for sale in the markets. We received a warm welcome from the director, a kind and... More

We happened upon The Healing Family Foundation by accident while wandering the laneways of Chiang Mai. And what a great surprise to find this inspiring and heartwarming organization! We loved talking with the staff, dancing with everyone (June, you are an amazing dancer!), and seeing the beautiful handicrafts made on site. We purchased all of our souvenirs and gifts here... We visited this charity after looking round the Wat near by and we were overwhelmed by the friendliness of the workers and atmosphere of good will. This foundation provides a place for mentally handicapped people to join together through weaving as well as musics and art. They are truly talented weavers and whilst you are there you are allowed to... More

Hard to get this song out of our heads, after another visit to the Healing Family Foundation. We were fortunate enough to be able to join in with the weaving, as well as the singing. You are my sunshine, how appropriate a song for this feel good establishment. Participating in the weaving is incredibly therapeutic, purchasing one of the many... More

When in Chiang mai please go here and support the work of this centre. As most places in the world UK included there are not enough centres around to provide meaningful employment for those with special needs after school. This wonderful little place was set up by one of the artists fathers. The people there are all very friendly and... More

I decided to come here after reading about it on trip advisor. It took us for-ever to find (bringing three children along for the walk) but I am really glad we persisted. We were greeted with open arms, hearts and the widest smiles I've seen. The kids were given a quick demo on how to use the loom and then... More
