This is a 'must' for visitors to Chiang Mai. Situated about 29 kms from Chiang Mai it is close to other attractions such as Tiger Kingdom. The whole Maesa Elephant Camp is well maintained and the staff are courteous and helpful. My young niece (age 4) and her parents thoroughly enjoyed their first experience of riding on an elephant, feeding... More

Elephants originally used to haul teak out of the forests now have no work, as the large teak trees are completely gone. They have been trained to put on quite a show for tourists, including doing paintings. My husband rode an elephant, and an ox cart back to the camp. I had a half hour foot and leg massage for... Maesa Elephant Camp is just past Mae Rim and turn to the left to Maesa where there are a heap of attractions such as Tiger Kingdom, the Snake Farm, Orchid Gardens, a Bungy jump and don't miss the 6 star Four Seasons hotel set sound a working rice farm. Maesa Elephant Camp is probably the best in CM. Beautifully landscaped... More

Elephants painting (I'm envious 'coz I can't draw anything!), playing football, throwing darts, dancing, interaction with people, etc. etc. what else can you ask for? And they look properly taken care of! A must see indeed when you visit Chiang Mai.

Visited the Maesa Elephant Camp as part of a day tour and had a fantastic time. This is a must go and see attraction. The Elephant Ride was a truly amazing experience which took you up and down very step hills with several river crossings, the handler was very experience and added to the unique experience. The Elephant show was... More

Compared to the elephant nature park this was 2nd best but still a wonderful place to visit. Elephants demonstrate carrying logs, play soccer, darts, paint self portraits & scenery & pretend to steal their mahouts hats! Nice selection of souvenirs at the gift shop, also a jewelry store with silver rings with elephants on them. There's a separate enclosure to... More

There are lots of Elephant camps in Chiang Mai. This is the one to go to! After recently traveling around Chiang Mai, we were first brought to this camp. The grounds were very well maintained, and the elephants are incredibly talented. In particular, the elephants painting is extraordinary. There is also elephant riding and other elephant shows offered at this... More

I visited Maesa and I was disappointed by the show. Elephants playing football, basketball, painting, against their true nature. This is a pure touristic attraction in order to lure tourists to see stupid shows, for which the elephants are being tortured (I guess) in order to perform. I wish it wasn't true but I don't think the elephant's nature is... More

The elephant show (3x a day) is definitely worth the entry fee; they're all very talented, nice, and seem really well cared for. Also, you can feed them, see the babies in the nursery, and possibly see a pregnant mother. Skip the optional elephant ride, unless you have younger kids that really want to ride an elephant. Our 30 minute... More

We got there a bit late for the show as we didn't plan this trip, just drove pass the place. Loved the area & everything about it, so many elephants and they looked quite healthy and well. I almost died when I saw the elephant painting elephant! It was just mind blowing <3 Will DEFINITELY visit again :)
