A good traditional Thai menu ( with subtitles! ), and let them know if you don't want the full chilli hit. The long cold drinks on offer are wonderful and welcome. We found the staff helpful and polite. If you choose to sit outside be aware the sun will move around and you may want to change tables, otherwise enjoy... More

This restaurant caters purely for tourists who are a relatively captive audience. Am sure it banks on people not returning as it appeared to not care about the quality of the food or the service. Our meal was delivered in parts with long spaces between. We had to ask multiple times for our bill. Looking round the restaurant others had... More

A really pleasant lunch - and anywhere that can do a full lunch or just a great sandwich and coffee without a shrug is to be valued. The guide to our trip around the house was perfect. A really fine day.

The cage is adjacent to the Jim Thompson House Museum, perfect to refresh in your way out. They sell 'Jim Thompson' tea in a choice of English, Japanese or Chinese varieties. Very pleasant.

We visited the Jim Thompson museum and ate at the restaurant afterwards. The experience was closer to a disaster.. I don't consider my husband or myself difficult to please or satisfy. We always take the venue into consideration and adapt our expectations accordingly. We're both quite health conscious and we don't like anything to be deep fried or full of... More

I went here on my second to last trip to Bangkok and loved it. It had a lovely atmosphere and was really refreshing after walking around Jim Thompson's home. Help to make a lovely day that much better.

Almost all the restaurants I've visited in Bangkok were more famous than this one, but Jim Thompson Cafe was the best for me. That's because thai food was either too strong or too salty for me all the times (even when I asked them to please put less salt). Here the food is more to a foreigner's taste, I'd say.... More

Beware of some of the staff when it comes to pocketing the change. Have just had lunch at the Jim Thompson House cafe, and what a great place it is, with tables on the edge of the pond full of colourful carp, huge ones. The smoothies and lime and ginger juices were delightful, and the Tom Yum great, a very... More

This was a lovely find. The house was such a great place to visit, very peaceful and a guided tour which was useful for additional information. We so enjoyed the visit that we decided to come back for dinner, we were staying very close by which probably swayed us too. The food was delicious although the starters were better than... More

We had a snack (spring rolls, prawns in filo, prawn balls) in the outside bar area overlooking the fish pond. Nice food and nice atmosphere. A little expensive but you'd expect that from a cafe attached to an attraction. Nice little stop before making our way home in the heat.

Thank Tracey M
