Got there in the afternoon so i was expecting the place to be incredibly busy and completely packed out but it wasnt so bad at all! after a while of wandering around i realised i was walking up and down the same area and finally found an exit... more

First of all, u have to ensure u can stand for the high temperature and the crowd!! If not, u better don't go there! Some people complained that the products there are not good or even in bad quality. See my pictures, u would know how good the products you can find here! But u really need to spend time... more

This is the biggest flea market I've ever been to. I couldn't see all of it it one day. Located next to the Kamphaengphet station of the Bangkok Metro mass rapid transit. I got there early but it was already packed.Wear comfortable shoes, dress light, and bring your backpack. The market is only open on friday and saturday. There are places to... more

Coming from Perth, Western Australia, I was excited when I heard about some big markets. Little did I know that these "big" markets are over 35 hectares! The prices are very cheap, I paid under $20 Australian for most things I bought such as nice tops and skirts. You can't try anything on or return it, but the prices were... more

We visited Chatuchak Market quite early, around 9 am. As Bangkok folks are quite desperated for their first sale, so we got our first few "low-price-to-quality" clothes without any bargain at all. The market also had the sections for pets and animals, souviniors and untensils, decors and designs etc. The only problem with the market was and as it is... more

This is an awesome market, everything is here but it may take some finding. Also the chances of re-finding a stall may be remote so you might want to barter and buy if it is something you haven't seen at several stalls! However a warning for those who don't like hardcore shopping and bargain hunting - this is very smelly,... more

I went to this market in February and it was great. Giant jumbo shrimp to eat , beer at the beer pavilions. Hagen Daz Ice cream. Lots to see. It's also one of the only places to get cool Thai made stuff, that isn't the typical tshirt tourist crap you see everywhere. We bought lots of shirts from local artists,... more

Visited Chatuchak in late May. Believed there would be great bargains, along with the usual bartering. We soon found the vendors were not interested in much bartering and few bargains were to be had. We left after a few hours (mostly getting lost and going round in circles - obtained a map but by that time it was too late... more

After reading about this place in a book, I was really looking foward to coming here, to spend up big on homewares, bags (fake designer, nice decent leather ones and authenitic thai designs), clothing, souvineers, tshirts, jewerelly etc. etc. However after half an hour here, I left, with nothing. We got to Chatuchak at about 9am, wasn't too crowded, but... more

Returning to Bangkok after 20 years a lot has changed and all my friends who have been in between highly recommended the Chatuchak Market. So I went in the heat of early May and near 100% humidity. I set off quite early to avoid the crowds, but almost everyone is as clever as me it seems. It is an experience... more
