Super skytrain.

The skytrain is a must do when in Bangkok. Travel by taxi or tuktuk is slow and hot, but by skytrain it is air conditioned and efficient. Good prices and a very efficient system.

Our first time to Bangkok, and the Skytrain was very good. We bought daily passes for 260 baht (about 5.20 GBP) each. Carriages are air conditioned and although a little crammed at times, they were reliable and frequent. The came about every 3 minutes.

The price is right, the train is a/c and they come every 5-10minutes. One issue, they get real full, but if you miss out, just wait patiently for the next one.

When traveling around Bangkok either you get stuck in traffic, inhale loads of fumes walking at street level, take the MRT ... OR ... you take the BTS SKYTRAIN. This is a clean, breathable, but extremely expensive option. AND it gets really overcrowded about 4 times a day. There are only 3 small hours of calm in the middle of... More

If you are staying near a Skytrain station, use it. Keep in mind it is not handicap or traveler friendly if you have a lot of luggage. Stairs would be more the norm but escalators and elevators are available at the typical tourist connecting points. Good and inexpensive way to get to the Main Airport Rail connection at Phaya Thai... I visited Bangkok many time before freeways or BTS. If you are smart enough to live or stay in a hotel near BTS you can reach most attractions easily. It is a bit crowded weekdays at commute time but never bad. It is fast, has good aircon, and delivers you clean and comfortable. No risk of crime. But foreigners need... More

The trains are packed which is normal but the strong aircon cools your nerves and made the ride pleasant. . Too many people were jamming the entrance trying to purchase tickets. No escalators so be prepared to exercise a bit.

Love the Skytrain & the associated rail link from the airport. Great way to see the city from a different angle. Best bit for me this trip, 1 hour & 45 minutes from touchdown to having a drink next to the pool in my hotel. No crazy taxi drivers & watching my life pass in front of me. All for... More
