This is the speedy way to get around Bangkok. It is fast, comfortable, particularly well air conditioned and very frequent. It is light years ahead of the London Underground. Also known as the BTS, it swiftly connects major parts of the city. Interestingly it is the preferred " middle class" mode of transport and the travellers above will be so... More

Honestly, when you are booking your hotel, ensure you are no more than10 mins max walk from the skytrain. It is a blessing in the heavy BKK traffic, it is super cheap, and it is icy cold with the AC. It can get very busy at the peak rush hour times, especially between 5-7pm, but still it's probably 4/5 times... More

Unfortunately, it is not always an alternative. But if it is, you should choose the BTS as yout means of communication around Bangkok. It uses 30-40 minutes on trips that takes 2-3 hours by car, is easy to navigate and has great air conditioning. Even during the rush hours it is not overcrowded. It is even cheap, if you are... More

If you are in hurry and want to avoid traffic jams, this sky train is the best option to reach the city centre. But please be aware that this train will not be too comfortable if you have too many or big size luggage. Not because the train has no space for your luggage, but because your destination station might... More

If you are in central Bangkok, forget taxi's, take the sky train. Above the traffic, it will get you there faster, calmer with a sense of adventure. If you are venturing further out, take the sky train to it's end and then board a taxi. Take it from a "native" expat; we've lived here 12 years.

Sky train is a great way to get around Bangkok since the traffic is always horrible. We did save hours using skytrain instead of a car. Ticket system is easy to use/understand. Skytrain can get very packed/crowded before and after working hours, avoid those house if you can.

I like the train system and handling. Efficient and easy to get around. Thanks to the guard at siam station who helped us finding our way back. Excellent service mind.

This is the best alternative way to avoid the traffic in Bangkok city. It's fast, clean and on time even though it's very crowd, especially during the rush hours.
