The Ganesh shrine could so easily be missed as it sits on the front plaza of Central World. A small but constant flow of worshippers makes you realise this is an important shrine for Hindu's. Well worth a few moments to take in this shrine and watch the dedication of the worshippers.

Came across the shrine when we were off to the Central World. Ganesh festival was going on while I was there with music and performances. It was a nice atmosphere in the evening with the smell of incense sticks, people offering prayers and music in the background.

Ganesha - the Elephant god - is highly revered by the Thais although it belongs to Hinduism. This modern Shrine operates as a sort of protective spirit for Central World Mall. Of course, the Thais will come and pay respect to Ganesha there. But the main, authentic Ganesha Shrine in Bangkok is not there. It is on Ratchadaphisek in Huaikhwang... More

This is one of the more colourful shrines in Bangkok. The assortment of elephants is fantastic to see.

This shrine, built on the side of the (then-named) World Trade Cenre shopping centre, is at the NE corner of the centre, a bit away from Isetan. Is it a tourist attraction? Generally, IMHO, no. Though maintained in good condition, this is not a destination unless you are a devotee of Ganesha (and maybe not even then). The important shrine... More

This small shrine is just outside Central World mall, so can be worth spending a few minutes as it somehow makes the busy atmosphere very calm with the incense sticks, roses and lotuses offered by devotees. So after a lot of shopping in the various malls, one can actually relax here!

This amazing shrine is one of two outside the front of the Central World Plaza. The shrine is a lovely small structure, surrounded by locals paying respects and going about their worship. That in itself is enough to make this an interesting and engaging attraction.

I'm happy to admit that the shrine is beautiful, but it's certainly not worth visiting specifically unless you happen to be passing by anyway. there are plenty of shrines in Bangkok to see - just look at the window of the Skytrain and you'll see plenty of them outside office buildings and shopping centres.

This shrine to the great Lord Ganesh is a truly beautiful, large golden statue. Always very popular & covered in red roses & the smell of incense is devine. Although not really worth a visit in it's own right, it is directly outside the Central World shopping mall so you can combine the visit with some shopping!
