Interesting and informative tour, but the highlight was our local guide Gof, she was great company, funny and knowledgeable, especially in some challenging circumstances (approximately 1 million Chinese tourists in the grand palace in 35+ degree midday heat). I would highly recommend this tour.

Great way to spend the morning and get to see Bangkok. Our guide was knowledgeable and helpful, I'm sorry I can't remember her name. 830m tour on 27/12/15.

We did both the Temple and River of Kings Urban Adventure and the Chinatown Food Discovery, and both were wonderful. The Temple and River of Kings tour was of the more touristy parts of town, but the price includes entrance to the Palace and Wat Pho, and it means you get background information and guidance where you wouldn't otherwise. The... More

We went on the Temple and River of Kings Urban Adventure in November 2015. Our wonderful guide Wawa took us on a local bus to the Grand Palace, a huge complex of royal residences, temples, and bureaucratic buildings in the heart of Bangkok, which we explored for a couple of hours. It was desperately hot and unbelievably crowded - in... More

Gof was my guide today and did an amazing job. Her English was perfect.( and she taught me some Thai words) Her knowledge of the history was excellent. Gof loves her shopping and knows exactly where to go. Had the best iced tea ever and a streeet seafood meal to die for. Not to mention the amazing snacks throughout the... More

Me and two friends had a private day tour in Bangkok, booked through Viator (Bangkok in Motion) which was arranged through Bangkok Urban Adventures. We had a really nice time, felt like we covered a lot of ground, but did not feel rushed. Our guide, who we called Nat, was very knowledgeable, easy to understand and nice. I would recommend... A great tour if you have not experienced Bangkok before. The tuk tuk is an easy way to get around first and I was shown the market places and temples. My guide was so helpful and had lots of knowledge to share.

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighborhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
