What a great day. We started in the wet markets then took a local train, which was quite an experience. The day was peaceful and adventurous. It was clear that the guide was seen as a local which gave us access to talk to local people and gain an insight into life outside the city. I would highly recommend this... more

The "guided tour" through the market was also much appreciated (having someone to ID all of the herbs and foreign fruits was very helpful.) Totally worth doing, just go for it... more

I chanced upon Absolute Explorer at TA and signed up for the countryside cycling tour in Feb 09. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves - the personalised service, the riding on the local train, mingling with the locals, eating at the village chief's home, etc is something we never imagined can be experienced in Bangkok. As the weather is... more

The local market was colorful - amazing to see how a chicken stall in a tiny space could sell chickens from live to cooked! The train ride was an eye opener to the other part of the country. Am glad we did not just stay in Bangkok. The freshly plucked coconut not only quenched our thirst, but also transported me... more

Absolute Explorer allows you to see Thai culture at its very best. The professional tour staff puts special emphasis on ensuring your comfort, safety, and enjoyment. During our half-day tour, we went to a local market, rode the train to the countryside, biked around rice fields, met locals, ate a great lunch at the village headman’s house, and learned a... more

Our guide Panida took us away on a local train for the day and showed us a completely different Bangkok. The countryside is peaceful, green and perfect for cycling. I haven't cycled for years and was slightly anxious of my capabilities, but I needn't have been concerned. The pace was easy and set to my wobbly capabilities. We enjoyed the... more

If you have some time in Bangkok, and to be honest you only need four days max in my view, this MUST be one of your days out, preferably after you have walked around central Bangkok for a day or two. Start out with a tour of the wholesale market behind the train station. You see all those famous ingredients... more

I can't rave enough about doing this bicycle tour, such a fun, enlightening and fulfilling (albeit hot!) day! It was so easy to book a tour before we left NZ and we had no problems at all to speak of - was also awesome to be able to email the link of the online photos to our friends and family... more
