Worth a visit on a weekday when the crowds are less and it is possible to wander around the temple and soak up the atmosphere. Easily accessible from Yuanshan MRT by a 10 min walk. Also transliterated as Bao'an temple.

If taking the MRT, the stop is "Yuanshan" on the "red line" heading north to either Beitu or Tamsui - front of the train. When you exit the turnstile, on the left hand side there is an "Information" booth staffed by helpful people who can give you directions, maps and a handy "Dalongdong The Ins and Outs" guide. Worth the trip at night, where cameras were there to take night view of the temple. Different angles gave an oriental feel.

If you only have 2 days in Taipei and want have some traditional Taiwanese art experience. Baoan temple is a great place to go. It is in an old neighborhood "Da long tong" and close to some main sightseeing spots. Baoan is a temple with beautiful and abundant collection of murals ,sculptures and reliefs.

This temple is a complex and detailed set of buildings that are full of amazing statues and and sumptuous interiors. This is a great choice if you can visit only one Taiwanese Taoist temple. It is next to the Confucius Temple, so you can combine the two. There is very little else in the neighbourhood though.

The area also has a confucius temple, i suggest you go via the park opposite the paoan temple as there are things to see there too. After that, turn a left and confucius temple is literally there. There's quite a lot to see in this one area alone. The night market is also just down this road (dalong) so go... More

It's worth visiting this beautiful temple and courtyard as there's no admission fees and it's pretty close to the MRT station, although it took only about 30 mins for me to get through this temple. There's Confucius Temple almost next door so make sure you visit it too.

*There are no metro station near to it as far as I know. No admission fees. *I guess the best bet to reach there is to get a cab. *Don't get a driver guide because you will need to pay min. 4 hours for his service. *There is no need to spend even 2 hours at this temple. *The temple... More

Baoan Taoist temple is stunningly decorative, attracting worshippers and mere onlookers alike. For me, the Taipei temple most worth a visit, bursting with photo opportunities!
