Take the MRT (red line), interchange at Beitou or Qiyan for Tamsui. If you like big crowds, go in the evening otherwise go during the day like we did. Lots of free food and drink sampling. Try the cold almond milk drink, delciious! Don't have to interchange for return train ride. On the way back get off at Jiantan Station... More

We spent a whole afternoon and evening here in Tamshui in April, not planned, but by accident. With a guide book in toll, we thought we were ready. An easy MRT ride from Taipai main station all the way to Tamshui. Then a short walk to "Old Street". We got there at around 4:30pm and the place was packed with... More

It's a crowded place on a Sunday afternoon with many of the locals coming here for food and shopping, but I would like to suggest that there's also a quiet historical route up the hill where you get to see a church, the schools, and the old buildings of Danshui. And do try the very famous "ah gei" snack originated... More

This place is by a river side. its beautiful and if you can catch the sunset, it is the best. we managed to catch it and the scenary was really amazing. There are a lot of food stalls, game stalls, titbit stalls at the dan shui old market. it is another night market, a smaller version of shilin night market.... More

Come here before the sun sets and slowly stroll around the entire area. Many places for good food, souveniers, the flagship Porter store, and if you go to the other side of the MRT, you might be able to find another night market. Don't rush through this district. More

View was good but really disappointed as most of all the shops along the seafront this time were closed for a few weeks. More
