a good place to enjoy sense of openness. view from the top of the mountain is magnificent and you can see the city and the sea on either side. very cold and windy especially in the evening where temperature can drop up to 8C. can get quite close to a dormant volcano. the arrow bamboo walking path near the top... Went up there to go to a hot spring, Macao, by taxi with a few friends. Gorgeous scenery throughout the entire drive and an awesome relaxation at the hot springs. Semi-difficult to get there as the taxi is a bit long and there is only one bus line(I think, may be more). Would definitely be the place to drive up... More

I did not expect Yangmingshan to be so scenic as it is so near the city. I went to see the Meng Huan Pond, which required me to climb some very steep steps. All was worth it when you see the scenery from above. You could see the different mountains around. A great place to hike.

Had a great day - took the 260 Bus from Taipei Main Station. Hardest part of the day was trying to find the 260 bus stop - be warned that there are two, one each side of the main building (separated by a couple of hundred meters and the building itself). You need to ensure that you catch the bus... More

Easy to get to about 90 minutes of relaxing on mrt and small bus. Lovely hour walk to waterfall and swing bridge. Basic cafe there. A little cold in January

Worth while to go all the way up. The view is absolutely breathtaking. There's a small little cafe (house turned cafe) half way up and the food is fantastic.

The many cafes and restaurants are the main attractions, rather than the park itself. A walk around the park you will see that many parts are actually not under good maintenance and poses great danger to venture beyond. Even the only waterfall that they boasted as a scenic view came under expectation when it looked more like a leaking water... More

Yangmingshan has many options for hiking, from 2 to 6 hours. Many trails, and the scenery is just beautiful. It's very close to Taipei and easy to reach from Jiantan MRT station (bus Red5, or Small15).

If you like to slow down and relax among nature, it is very nice location for trekking. Air is extremely fresh.
