Great escape from city to see a fantastic view from nature

Definitely worth the 4700 steps to see the view at the top! The visitor center at the start of the trail has a very sweet lady who speaks great English. The trail is very easy to follow but make sure you are up for the challenge, it is a good uphill walk.

The only good place to hike in Taipei in my opinion. Very beautiful and with fresh air. Hard to get up the mountain thought is the only down side.

There is so much to do in the national park, make sure you research and plan beforehand. Their website is very detailed with suggested trail routes and maps etc and there's a tourist information in the main centre, shuts about 5pm. Maps available in many languages. The bus leaves not far fro the main centre although the last one is... More

I went to this place during summer. Its a place for those who likes to walk and the bushes were left to grow by nature. It is not maintained and therefore, the view from the various place along the trekking area were blocked. There were many local elders who went to do their exercise on the Sunday I arrived. The... Visited the location and except the very scenic natural landscape we were awed by the steaming pits. It's one of these moments where you feel so defenseless and small in front of the grace of nature. Totally recommended!

We stayed at Tienlai at Yangmingshan. It is a nice quiet spot in the mountain. There is not much night life. The main attraction at Yangmingshan is the hot springs which we really enjoyed. Wished we have stayed longer than 1 night.

A well conserved national park. There are many attractions over these place, but every attraction distanced quite apart. Now it is summer, therefore the weather is relatively hot and humid! Probably spring is a good time to visit!

I like nature, and this is a great place. It is easy to access by public transport, it has plenty of interesting stops and foods and a dip in the warm sulfuric water make the whole experience very fulfilling.
