Hey, Yangmingshan National Park is close to Taipei. When you want to have Fresh air from the city... you have to go there. First take the metro, then find a taxi which will drive you (ours was driving very fast on mountain roads... it was really scary) to the "entry" of the park... which wasn't really the Entry since we... more

I went up Mt Ciseng on a fairly cloudy day but the views are good even if the weather is imperfect, and the cloud cover gives it another element anyway that makes for some good picture taking and 'Taiwan mystique'. Conveniently located just a short drive north of Taipei, this mountain has a wonderful variety of attractions. Views from the road and hiking trails are varied and spectacular.
