Took the 260 bus up to the Hwa Zhong area of Yang Ming Shan. Unfortunately, I went on a Thursday and the visitor centre at that area was closed. Didn't do my research earlier on how to travel around. However, I took the Danan bus (think it was 313) to Zhuzihu where the Calla Lily Festival was held. The whole... More

The place itself is very nice. We visited it on a rainy and cold day but it is still much enjoyable. Directions were not much clear if you don't know Chinese, but it will be fine with Google Maps and a few direction boards on the tracking way. The park together with National Palace Museum and Beitou make a good... More

A beautiful area, easy to get to as a day trip from Taipei. I visited in mid-April just after the cherry blossom season had ended but the park was still well worth visiting. The whole area is signed with proper trails of varying difficulty. You could spend anywhere between an hour and six, depending on your stamina…! The whole area... More

I visited the park during the Calla Lily picking season over Easter and needless to say the place was packed. What made things more chaotic was that the road signs directing you to the Calla Lily areas weren't well-signposted and pedestrians were often forced to walk alongside cars on the roads. There were also huge numbers of cars accessing the... More

We made this a day trip by taking a cab from shilin MRT to the park itself. This is a huge national park with lots of hikes ,treks and sights. The park has a shuttle bus system but it can be a bit confusing for the uninitiated and for the non Mandarin speakers. The cherry blossoms were gone by the... More

Did a hike up Yangmingshan via Xiaoyoukeng, up Qixingfeng and down Lengshuikeng. Summer brings clear views, but the sun is a real killer. Great views and well maintained trails. No water sources available on the trails, but there are stalls at the start and end points. Definitely worth a visit!

We visited this park during the Calla Lily picking festival and it was incredibly packed with people and cars. It was impossible to walk around and see anything. Getting into the park was a huge car jam, getting out of the park was a 2 hour ordeal.
