As soon as I read about this program, I booked a slot. I wanted to do something different on my visit and get to help out too. I met Steve and Jonathan at Shandao Temple mrt and they told me firstly about the program itself. Because of higher divorce rates and the apparent inflexibility of hours for working single mums,... My wife and I read some of the reviews on trip advisor and we decided to contact Peter about signing up. Peter went out of his way for us to experience this tour as it wasn't supposed to be available during the time we were there. It was very easy to meet him and he took us on a tour... More

With a group of 6 Dutch students we had the amazing opportunity to help the momma's sell the sweet potatoes. Well organized and very interesting!

This organisation made it possible for foreigners to experience how local mommy's sell sweet potatoes on the street. I think it is fantastic opportunity for tourists to learn more about the locals. Especially because it was very well organized. I would really recommend this activity to all of you!

To live as a local for a day is a beautiful experience for everyone. After a thorough introduction and historical background of the organization and the area where it is located, we could mean something for the sweet potato mommas, by helping them sell their sweet potatos. It is heartwarming to see the smile of the mamas when all their... More

This program is an amazing one that tourists should definitely participate in if they are looking for a unique and challenging experience that will help them grow and gain perspective. The program itself enables and empowers single mothers so that they can raise their children and work at the same time. Helping a Sweet Potato Mama for a day was... More

This is definitely an interesting and meaningful experience. You get to interact with a local and really get to have a different taste of Taiwan through this one day volunteering. Just bring an open heart and you will receive more than you expect. 我卖了地瓜,买了地瓜,吃了地瓜。外表不吸引人的地瓜真的深长不露,朴素的外皮包着金黄色的肉,如此的松软。一次不一样的体验,也是一个难得的经验,会让你回味无穷。

What is “live” actually? Is a simple verb, but it never goes easily. We have a lot of choices on how to live, but in fact, how many of us are able to make it different and meaningful? After I attend this event, I realized this is not about "help" some "poor" people. After I visit them, I found I... More
