Attempted to join the Edison morning tour to Yehliu and afternoon tour to Jiufen. Arranging for the tour was painful, especially once they hear you are traveling alone. I guess the hordes of travellers from China gives them enough business and solo/budget travellers are left aside. What a pity to this otherwise enjoyable experience in Taiwan.

The best way to see Taiwan, with great guides. Very friendly and knowledgable , english speaking. The hotels and food are great, and train and bus trips are great and comfortable.
