The night market is big- it is like a huge city of street vendors selling everything from food to treats to gadgets to accessories. The food represents the massive variety of foods in Taiwan and I wasn't brave enough to try everything- but there are so many different things to eat that it is impossible to leave hungry. Don't forget...

Shilin Night Market is basically nice place with alot of food stalls and clothing stalls. However we (my hubby and I) could not get to enjoy it as the moment we step into the first stall, entralled by the baby clothing section, we were pickpocketed. They were very fast, and in a moment of seconds, a crowd came in, pushed...

When you come here, there are many foods that you must try such as chicken cutlet, bubble tea, cheese potato and so much more. Do expect crowds on weekend nights especially when the weather is good. Other than foods, you also can shop for apparels, handphone accessories and so much more. Read my reviews on my recent Taiwan trip at...

It is good to taste various street foods of Taiwan (from north to south) in the small area. A nice place to try many snacks.
But the basement is really crowded. I went there in their long weekend in end Feb. Full of local people. The seating is so small and is not comfortable for western visitors. It maybe their...

Went there two nights ago and the place was packed. We had to park four blocks away. Exit stairs are too narrow and few for such a...

endless food variety. great taste @ low price.
lots of shopping as well. many independent clothing brand stores. not too many chain stores. love it.
don't go if you don't like crowds.
just like everywhere else in the world, when there are large crowds, pick pockets are also at large. have your bag/backpack within sight. otherwise, it is very safe.

It's always been my favorite night market in Taipei. Located at Jian Tan station, it is accessible by the local train service.
The place is divided by two sections; food where you will be able to find the local main and snack food and not forget the other area for shopping
Food which I like the most is the smelly...

As a shopping destination, we found Shihlin disappointing compared with street markets in Bangkok, Paris or London. Merchandise seemed geared more for local consumers in terms of style and size. Prices not attractive. Food in general seemed very commercial, although we did stumble on a hole in the wall serving excellent Japanese katsu donburi for USD 4. Fun way to...
