This house with history sits in the mist of Ximending which is very popular with youngsters. Thus, the building itself will seems out of place. On weekends, it gets busy, not because people are visiting it, but rather the stalls which opens outside Red House. You can give it a miss if you have other things to do. Visit only... More

I didn't get it, I guess it is a building in a very different style than most but it is not remarkable in any way in my opinion. Plus we peaked inside and there were only some construction materials...

During weekends this place is jammed with people enjoying looking, buying and selling crafts inside and outside the Red House. If you like local handcrafts, you should enjoy this place. There is a coffee shop in there. However, the place looks quiet as if no-happenings during weekdays. Just as short visit or look will do.

Ximending is a pretty busy district. Once you exit from the MRT turn right and you wilk see the Red House. It is tucked away from the main street itself. It has some Taiwan art and craft shops in the vacinity.

Unless you are a person who really likes theater and such you may find more exciting things to do in Taipei. It was close D on Monday so we returned Tuesday, went in and thought 'this is it?' OK BUT NOT A MUST SEE

Stopped to check out this building just because we were close by, and it's supposed to be a landmark. It's really nothing special. I took one picture then left. There's also a placard so that you can read what the building is and the history of it. We were there in the middle if the day. Perhaps there's more activity... More

My original plan was to take a look at this Western Style red-brick octagonal structure built as a public market in 1908 in Ximen, Taipei. A little disappointed as there was nothing much to see other than the building which to me was not that spectacular. There was also not much activities around probably because we arrived early in the... More
