A visit to this narrow street was included in our walking tour of central Tainan. The premises in this street consist of houses, restaurants, speciality shops and artisan/craft workshops. The premises are all old and the shops and workshops are interesting for browsing and/or purchasing. Many of the items are unusual and the crafts are generally of high quality. This... More

I went there in an hot and sunny afternoon. It was great to see the temples, the old houses and the beautiful decorated windows and doors. Stroll on the brick lanes that craved with poetries and patterns. Imagine waking there like citizens hundreds years ago. Poetic!

The road isn't that long, but it is well decorated by old style chinese lanterns. I visited during night, there are many small and specialty shops, snacks and hand made souvenirs. It is good for walking and sightseeing during night, not for shopping stuff

The street is interesting with character shops & cafes. But many of them do not open except on weekend.

We went there in the afternoon but there was not much activities there. Only one or two shops open. The red lanterns were nice for taking pictures, though. I wonder if it is more exciting in the evening.

It's nice walking on this street with a lot of interesting little shops that hidden in the old buildings. Night time is more beautiful with all the lighting effect projecting on the old building facade.

This street is not very long and with all old city style. If you don't have time to visit there twice, go there at night. Very good for photo shooting. There are some interesting stores selling cute souvenir like any other sightseeing spots. There are also some cafe with style , so pick one and stay for a while to... More

There are some absolutely beautiful night walks to take in Taiwan's oldest City, Tainan. 臺南市(Tainan). There are several old, cobblestone streets, which serve as a reminder to this city's important place in Taiwan's history. One of these ancient streets is Shennong Street (神農街). Seeing Shennong street was almost exactly as I imagined it. Walking down the street, quiet, and dark,... More

This is more a tour of 8 or so temples than interesting shops. Good photo opportunity in many places but don't plan to spend more than an hour.
