There are some absolutely beautiful night walks to take in Taiwan's oldest City, Tainan. 臺南市(Tainan). There are several old, cobblestone streets, which serve as a reminder to this city's important place in Taiwan's history. One of these ancient streets is Shennong Street (神農街). Seeing Shennong street was almost exactly as I imagined it. Walking down the street, quiet, and dark,... More

This is more a tour of 8 or so temples than interesting shops. Good photo opportunity in many places but don't plan to spend more than an hour.

Though it was a short street (10-15 mins walk), old treasures are abound. Rugged streets are filled with old rickety walls and signages, with the front facade a palette for local artists. The huge art murals are wonderfully immersive. Not to miss if you're interested in old Taiwan street culture!

The buildings in this street are full of character . Many interesting shops and eateries dot the street.

I visited this street at night according to the advise from trip advisor. It was a disapoitment. There are not much and nothing special about this street excepting the old houses. This street has a lot of restaurant and drinking bar. Should it be still considered as old street?!

I went to this street a couple times and each time it feels different. During the day time, there was rarely any people, and the shops were not opened. However, it is only during the morning, you could actually take a clear photo of the street with no crowd. And during the night, is when all the shops at this... More

I have Shennong Street on my list of things to do again if I go back to Tainan, but if I do it again it will 100% be at night. We walked down the street around 1 PM, looking for food since it was near our hotel. Big mistake. There really isn't anything to do until night time. We did... More

A good place for holding someone dear. After sun set or after dinner is advised. Most biuldings on this street are belongs to old Tainan era. A good place for one or two friends, not that good for lareg group gathering.

Just a short street hided in Central Tainan fulls of old style life. Some bars and interesting events make tourists surprised as walking along. Recommended TAIKOO 101 cafe shop is a must visited spot to have a wonderful afternoon tea. Sure to relax and have fun there.
