We have been in museum after Manaslu trek - during short break in Pokhara. Entrance fee small - 3 euro - but when you are inside - you see mostly prints and photos of mountains, animals and flowers. The only exciting thing was real mountain equipment af first expeditions to 8 km peaks.

Very interesting museum with Hillary artifacts and other climbing exhibits. Also Nepali caste exhibits and explanations. Interesting building.

its hard to travel Nepal and admit to not trekking! My friend and I had no desire to hike the mountains but we loved walking the museum. Fascinating what compels people. The architecture of the museum itself suited the topic and the information was quite comprehensive. Learned a lot!

Walked here from Lakeside (1h+) tricky to find as no signs! 500Rp entry (tourist) large 'un-Nepalese' building wastefully under used on the upper floor. Jaded old photos and displays. Looks like an 'externally funded' Euro type development which has had under investment since build? Worth a rush around on a spare day - perhaps...

Large modern building, set in large gardens where families picnic and kids play, cafe in garden, wheel-chair friendly building. Museum covers early climbing expeditions, the yeti, geology, flora, fauna, local peoples and comparison with European alpine dwellers.

The Mountain Museum is a good place If one wants to understand the challenges and rough majesty of Nepal's mountains. We could not go trekking so this was a kind of surrogate for my family. The park is good for children

It takes hardly 15 minutes by bicycle from the Lakeside to get to this Museum. The museum is very informative and interesting, it even has a video section. Plus point is the wide park that contains it, with a restaurant and reproductions of nepalese architecture. Worth a visit!
