Unfortunately, these burning ghats are within the Pashupatinath Temple, that is rather expensive to enter. And once here at the 'crematoria', you stand out vividly as an outsider watching something that probably should be left to the families. We were amazed at western tourists taking pictures, thinking what it would be like to have a throng of Hindu travelers show...

We were here with our teenage children. We are all used to the third world and confronting death. This place is all you expect it to be. Yet another place in Nepal that makes you contemplate your mortality and place in the universe.
You feel a little voyeuristic watching other peoples grief. Yet it does us good to see death...

It was really interesting to visit this temple and is around. you have enough change to see cremation of death people directly and Nepali culture how the do when people die. you also could explore Pasupati temple or Crematoria from many ways.

If this refers to the Pashupatinath temple complex, then calling it the Crematoria is a bit of an insult, as it is far more than just the place where many Kathmandu-ites receive their funeral rites. This is not a place to like but to respect. This part of the culture is so different from ours that I just had to stand and stare. Hopefully no-one noticed

Very morbid watching the families grieve and burning their loved ones. Did not enjoy this at all but that is only my view. River flowing past the Ghats heavily polluted and Yogis demanding money for photo's. Not a side of Nepal I would recommend.
