This temple is one of the oldest close to KTM, but most part of the tourist doesn't know its existence. It's a pity. ask a taxi for a day, and visit all the different interesting sites. Renting a taxi for one day including Bakthapur (22 km from KTM) and changu narayan, Bodnath, Patan, Swayanbunath, will cost you less than 3000rps. More

The temple is studded with many statues and bells, and imbelished with intricate metal work. The view from outside the temple into the valley is super on a clear day. More

A new museum has opened at Changu Narayan. The Living Tradition Museum covers different areas of Nepal with artifacts, clothing and photos. The exhibits are new and exciting for this ancient site, which on its own is fascinating. More

We walked here from the bend of the road leading up to Nagarkot as described in Lonely Planet. The walk itself was ok, nothing special, but the site of Changu Narayan was beautiful. Well worth a visit, and it's a nice, quiet spot with relatively few visitors. More

The main point to come here are the ancient statues of Vishnu dated from the 4th century AD... although temple itself (dated 18 century) and the atmosphere on sunrises/sunsets are quite inspiring too More

Located some four kilometers from Bhaktapur on a hill overlooking the valley, this place is known for the temple, some of the most striking stone sculpture dating back to fourth century A.D. There is the sculpture of Lord Vishnu astride the heavenly bird Garud and there is another sculpture showing him as Vishwarupa. More
