I came to the Garden during the strikes in May 2012, as all the shops and restaurants were closed. I'm so glad I did! the Garden is quiet and seems far removed from the sensory overload of Thamel. One could spend all day drinking masala tea and browsing the beds of flowers here!

The gardens are a welcome respite from the busy city. The flower gardens are lovely to look at, here, one can have a short stroll, or sit and read a book, meet with friends, or have a coffee or all of these. It is such an unexpected treat in the middle of such a busy place.

A 10 minute walk from Thamel along Tridevi Marg will bring you to the peace and tranquility of The Garden. I discovered what was behind this wall 30 years ago and would often come and wander around in the overgrown garden admiring the surprises being choked by weeds, watching a million bats hanging in the big tree. Hyped here on TA, but actually a nice but rather small city garden that makes a welcome escape from the city noise and chaos, but as a park or garden has not so much to offer.

very beautiful and peaceful garden. It is nice spending some time there away from hustle and bustle of Kathmandu centre. The coffee shop there was expensive though.

When inside the garden, you could be a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of Thamel. Peace and quiet, beautiful flowers and trees, calming water features and a fantastic cafe, combine to make you relax.

The garden itself is very nice, and can be a great break from Thamel, however the Cafe there serves really boring and expensive food. Go for the garden and maybe coffee, but visit some of the much more exciting restaurants and cafes in Thamel for food.
