I had wanted to visit the Himalayas for some time so my wife & I looked on the web at various travel and tour company offerings. None of them were appealing until we found Rainbow Photo Tours. It was like finding gold. We have memories from the trip that will last a lifetime. As well as thousands of photos! Robin's... More

We don't normally take guided tours but since this was the only way to see Bhutan we decide to do it. Best trip we have ever taken. The tour was wonderful. Each couple had a private car with driver and guide. If you wanted to do something different from the group you could. You really did not want to do... More

My husband and I usually go on customised trips, having experienced the downfalls of large group situations. Therefore, I was a little hesitant about joining a group trip once again. However, my fears were put to rest on the very first day, with such a well organised trip and a lovely group of people. The system with a couple per... More

This holiday incorporates so many aspects of photography, from portrait, nature, architecture, sports and of course, panoramic views. The tour format is excellent where each couple in their own car have a knowledgeable guide and expert driver…(he needs to be!). This also gives you the flexibility to take your time and take the photos you want. Robin’s expertise and local... More

This was not just a tour for adept photographers, it was a dream tour for anyone who has a sense of adventure and curiosity about the world in which we live. Bhutan, one of the last countries to open its doors to tourism, is a remarkable country with a variety of unique experiences to stimulate the artistic mind. I was... More

"I first learned about Rainbow Photography Travel through Lonely Planet's Bhutan guidebook. Bhutan was on my wish list, but specifically Eastern Bhutan, since I had read how beautiful, little travelled and authentic it was. I was thrilled to find all of this in the Rainbow trip, which Robin wrote about with such excitement . The itinerary looked fantastic, and Robin's... More

I feel I am echoing other testimonials, but it is true: Our journey through Bhutan with Robin's Rainbow Photo Tours was a unique and unforgettable cultural and photographic experience of a lifetime. It was very unique, the way the tour was organized and conducted: traveling with a group of talented photographers but given the space and time to explore your... More

Several years ago Bhutan was featured in the Smithsonian Folklife Festival held on the National Mall every summer in Washington, D.C., near to where we live. Having been just voted as the country with the highest of Gross National Happiness (GNH) index, I was curious to see what Bhutan had to offer. It was amazing to see the Mask Dancers,... More

Run, do not walk, to go in the next tour by Rainbow, before Bhutan is swept away by the hurricane of modernization that has been released upon its people. For current photos that show what it is really like, see http://www.flickr.com/photos/21659898@N07/ for example. The only reason I withheld one start from the overall rating is that some of the roads... More

Randy Ormston's critique of this tour (below) really sums it up! My wife and I were on the same trip, and we too, found it magical! Randy has done a beautiful job of enumerating how special this trip is. If anything he has understated it! The tour is truly a fantastic experience! Neither my wife or myself are serious photographers.... More
