We found this little museum when walking up the main street. The film about the national costumes and Bhutanese woven crafts was great. The exit ion is well laid out with beautiful examples of Bhutanese textiles.

As you enter the museum through a non-descript door, it is easy not to pay much attention to the large tangakha hanging in the centre of the room. This museum offers a fascinating historic display of Bhutanese clothing - women's kiras and mens ghos, from various regions of Bhutan. There are also displays of the beautiful Bhutanese textiles.

Visited this Museum and quite frankly, we were the only ones inside the Museum which to my mind need not be part of your itinerary. The time here is better spent watching actual painting in a Thangka shop, or simply watching an archery or darts game played by gho-clad Bhutanese men. http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Bhutan/Paro/blog-673427.html

We visited the Textile Museum and thoroughly enjoyed it. In fact we didnt have enough time as the shop is also excellent. The Museum gives an excellent introduction to the history and peoples of Bhutan through their native dress and is well worth a visit.
