From Cilaos, climb Taibit pass to enter the Cirque de Mafate. Start to walk early in the morning and book in advance your night in the lodge because there are many persons hiking in this place. Difficult, but so nice!

The beautiful Cirque de Mafate is totally surrounded by mountains. Many companies offer helicopter rides to Cirque de Mafate. We took a trip by automobile to the Maido Peak – a scenic overlook – where, at 2,200 meters, you can enjoy a bird’s eye view of this cirque. It’s haven!
