Went here twice during our 3 day stay in Windhoek. Met some great locals. Good staff, great game selection, fascinating decor. Big parking lot with a guard to watch your car (for a tip but worth the piece of mind). Was tossing up between a 5 or 4 because despite the name, there is only a standard beer selection available.... We loved this restaurant. It was perfect to go with our two kids (4 and 6 yrs) as well. They made smaller portions and there was plenty to see and move around. The atmosphere is just wonderful, staff very friendly. You should really try the oryx! Good to know: the parking lot has security guards who watch over your car.

Joe's Beerhouse is a must see and try in Windhoek. The meals are huge and tasty and good value. The service is fast and efficient and looking at the décor keeps you busy until your meals arrive.

I spent about 5 hours in Joe's drinking Windhoek and Camelthorn with friends. We had a couple of snacks whilst we waited for our group to arrive (mieliepap croquettes are particularly good) and then launched into the game. I have the kudu steak which was huge and tasty. You can also get tasting skewers with 5 different kinds of game... More

I've eaten at Joe's five times during my annual hunting trips from Chicago up to the Kamanjab area. The food is always tasty, and if you get there early enough before it gets too crowded, the service is fine. I usually get the "Double Trouble" burger with a couple of cold Tafel beers. It just doesn't get much better!

This has been one of the worst restaurants i have ever been to especially coming from South Africa. The service is pathetic, though the food was great. Our waitress disappeared for more than 15mins at a time.We felt neglected ,this is not a place to go to when you are starving.I had to walk out and pay for our bill at... More

This is not just for tourists, you find locals here as well which is a good sign. Enormous portions of well prepared genuine German food at reasonable prices. Great service and fantastic vibe. This place seats close to 500 people and it was almost packed to capacity on a Saturday evening. Highly recommended.

Why this is just one of those places that you cannot miss when passing through Windhoek (possibly even Namibia as a whole). One of the strangest and simultaneously quirkiest restaurants I have ever been to. The beer selection was obviously delicious, staff were friendly and the food was awesome as well.

My favorite restaurant in Windhoek. Food is very great, atmosphere excellent and the cost reasonable. In winter, sit by the Boma to keep warm.
