Yes this is the place to be in Windhoek, everyone is there. When travelling around for a week in Nambia everyone said we had to go here. Yes, it's a great relaxed place with a uniqute environment making a a great statement for Namibian "chabby chic" - lots of fun. Good service, the smoked kudu as appetizer was great but... More

Good food but the worst service! Waiting 5 min to be seated, 15 to get the menu, 20 to order and so on is not what you expect from a place like this. If you order an assorted plate with oryx, springbok and kudu meat, it would be great if the lady serving it tells you which is which. Moreover,... More

In the past Joe's Beerhouse has been a place for tourists and people the locals did not really want to mingle with. This has drastically changed with the new owners. Now it is a place for everybody and the quality of food and service has reached formerly unknown heights.

Worst service ever and the food really isn't as great as you would think. Don't know why people still go there.

The only thing I can say is Get There. You will have missed a excellent pub if you don't. Unique in every way.

My second time at this highly popular and funny decorated place. The service is fast and the main course good, but not spectacular. The don Pedro (?) dessert, a sort of slush was delicious. We found out that Joe has sold the place and hope the new owner keeps up the good work.

we fancied some game for our last meal in Namibia and the guesthouse recommended Joe's. We ate dinner at 8pm and I noticed lots of people were finishing. We still waited some time to be served but it was nothing terrible and the staff were delightful. We had a Namib Bush fire which consisted of Oryx, Springbok and Kudu. All... More

Joe's made me feel like a "tourist" in my own country. They have unimaginable kinds of food such as ostrich and crocodile. My foreign colleagues enjoyed the crocodile but I enjoyed the ostrich (at least it sounded more like chicken to me so I thought I would rather try something normally eatable!). I especially enjoyed the atmosphere and the creativity... More
