We went to The Gambia in October 2012, and Arch 22 was one of the 1st sites we came across. You can park right beside the arch which, offers great convenience. The arch itself is not in great condition, and if we remember right, the entrance fee was 50 dalasi per person. A museum is located half way up the... More

You can't miss it when you enter Banjul. The view from the top balconies is great. The arch is certainly impressive, although its design is a metter of taste I suppose. You also wonder whether the money spent on this mightn't have had a better purpose...

An impressive structure that you can walk up to experience a view across the whole of Banjul. There's not much apart from the view ,but it does put things into perspective.... a multi million pound self commissioned tribute to a president that shows his people living in squalor.

Well worth a visit and very close to the Laico Atlantic, would recommend climbing to the top as you get great views of Banjul, for those who don't want to climb the stairs there are lifts available, there is also an interesting museum. Entry is only £2 well worth it

Great view of Banjul - you can take a lift or stairs to the top then take photos of the city and beach

As great views of the city and has a very qwerkie museum at the top. It's a short walk from the Atlantic but take a guide in yellow/mustard tops with you and you won't get hassled

A little run down, but the views are fantastic. The museum / displays at the top are a bit of a waste of time, but it is a good experience. A fantastic photo opportunity

We climbed the stairs of the Banjul arch, there is a lift, and found there is a museum type of display to look around and viewing platforms where you get a lovely view all around Banjul of the mosques, the sea and creeks over the rooftops and you see many of the modern buildings that the President has had built, standing alongsides the... One of the tourist "sights" of Banjul but not very striking. From the top, there is a good view of the town just about making the effort of climbing worthwhile.
