It used to be great, but unfortunately burned down in January. Some of the musicians now play in Mama's Kitchen, which is really nice, and the Ghion Hotel

Unfortunately the original location burnt in January 2015 and the place has been reopened in Hotel Ghion. Went there of Easte Saturday evening. Very nice music played by a Jazz Tanzanian/ugandan band. Full of people -mostly locals. The highlight of the evening was the world famous ethiopian jazz player, Mulatu Astatke who was the special guest. He normally plays al... More

The music is good, food is ok. What I don't like is the crowd, it made me feel we were surrounded by pushy girls, who are looking for foreign men. Not my type of place, may be am to old for it. And a little bit crowded.

Jazzamba is located at Taitu hotel. a cover charge of 80 birrs will guarantee you a night of great food, great music and an electric crowd. The place gets full, so I would recommend that one gets there by 7:30 p.m. Transport was not an issue because the blue cabs are parked right outside the main gate.

Great music, grand place with a very quaint air about it and a good bar...the only problem is trying to catch a cab ride back. Ideally one should book a cab for the entire evening.

Located at the Taitu Hotel, this is where you find the perfect blend of music, food and ambiance. There is an entry cover charge to access Jazzamba but you will not regret it. Loads of jazz formats are played - very enjoyable.

For the ardent music-lover, this venue is an absolute must when in Addis! This must have been the klw'est scene in town since the heyday of Ethio-Jazz and remains alive and very much kicking. Program all week! Local fans gather nightly to listen to old-time veterans and a newer generation; extremely talented musicians! Alemayehu Eshete doing Addis Ababa Bete might... More

If you like to listen to live Ethiopian and international jazz, make sure to include a visit or two to Jazzaramba in your schedule. I have been there three times now in my last two visits to Addis and will make to go back again and again whenever I am in Addis. The artists are great, the music is marvelous... More

If you like music then you must come to Jazzamba while in Addis. Check their facebook page for line-up, which contains both regular artists (usually more famous acts) as well as younger new musicians. The atmosphere alone is worth the trip, located in classic ballroom of Taitu hotel, the first hotel in Ethiopia. The earlier you arrive, the better seat... More
