Dingy cages, hardly any animals ; the place is completely run down and horribly maintained. Felt really sorry for the Animals. Would suggest this zoo should be shut down.

Having been to San Diego zoo which in my opinion is the best in the world, visiting Addis Ababa zoo was a shock. All this has are a few deer, a few lions in ridiculously small enclosures, a heron, a duck and an eagle in a horribly tiny cage. The entire zoo can be completed in 5 minutes. Local visitors... More

Approximately five male lions and two females are in relatively small cages in this small zoo. There are also a few monkeys and a few indigenous deer and tortoises lazing around. Foreign adults are 20 bir; foreign children are 10 bir. There is a 20 bir charge to carry a camera in and a 100 bir charge to take in... More

Coming from Europe and not being a Zoo Fan anyway, this was the most horrific thing, i have ever seen. Very! small and dirty cages, i was shocked. Felt so unbelievably sorry for those poor animales. I expected "different" standards, of course, but this simply broke my heart

This has to be the worst Zoo ever. It is animal cruelty. Imagine a 3D hollow Pie. And section of this said pie has one, two or sometimes three Lions. Animals look well fed, but are ill treated by the visitors. There are some more cages with some assorted Monkeys, cranes, ducks and some deer species. On the tickets, there... More

All I can say about this "attraction" is that it is tiny and overpriced at best...and animal cruelty at worst. The lions were all crammed into small concrete cages, pacing back and forth as one would expect from a life spent locked behind bars. Many of them did not even have objects in the cage to keep their minds busy... More

This isn't a big zoo. There are a few lion cages in the center of the park, and a few other animals also. I felt bad for the lions, because they don't have a lot of freedom, as they are locked up in the cages with very little space for them - very far from their natural habitat. The park... More

This "zoo" is not much more than a series of cages for some very old big cats. Not worth the price of admission and certainly not worth the price to bring in a camera.

We visited here on a Sunday and it was packed- so much so that I was quite nervous about how many people were milling around. The lions all looked so sad. The zoo would benefit from some renovation.

6 Lions stuck in small cages, few other animals that will be happier in wildlife. Disappointed about this small zoo in the center of the polluted Addis.
