It was fun to see the lions, but their space is a bit cramped. It is a popular place though. Many people were there when we visited.
As an animal lover, i was hoping for the best, but this place is horrible. Apart from the fact that locals pay 2 bir and foreigners pay 20 bir to get in, this place should be closed down and the animals set free instantly. The locals do not seem to know how to treat animals properly; thrash gets thrown in... More

It is time Ethiopia wakes up and leaves behind this old behavior in treating animals. Investors, there is no nice zoo in Ethiopia to learn the Ethiopian children about wildlife and wildlife protection. Take fast your chance, Lions in cages where they can only suffer on a cement floor. Tortoises fixed in a few M2. Help Help Help the lions... More
To see other creatures in such condition it sad. It is very small for kings of jungle. They need more space and preferably open place. I recently discovered a zoo out of Addis which is much much better than this. To visit this place you ought to call in advance. They have big and beautiful lions and tigers in a... More

You buy tickets per ride, and... More

I do not recommend visiting this place unless you like to see poor lions sitting in very small cages and being very thin, dirty and unhappy. I am sure during Haile Selassie time, the place was a much nicer and better kept location, but those times have passed and it is beter to either close the zoo or try to... More
