Here again, we spent a few years not months or weeks in Burkina Faso, so we went to the Nazinga Game Park often. Its nice but kinda hit and miss on whether or not you will see wildlife. No lions but lots of elephants. Go in Jan. Feb. or Mar.

Not to be compared with east Africa, but as it is not busy a very relaxing place. Garantuee to see elephants up close. The lake has crocodiles, nice to sit and watch at night. Bring torch, chair and drinks.

The rainy season is not the best time to travel to Nazinga, but it worked out fine. Four wheel drive is a necessity, as the road was very, very rough and flooded in several places. We did see a good number of elephants, antelope, baboons and birds. I can see how it would be much easier to see the animals... More

The road from Ouagadougou is in good condition and there is not much traffic (3 hours drive). Once you get to Nazinga you'll se the elephants in and around a little lake just next to the reserve's HQ and the main accommodation and restaurants. In two days I saw 60 or so elephants, large numbers of baboons, some antelopes, guinea... More

The drive is 3.5 hours from OUA so we decided to arrive late afternoon and spend the night. Our cost for travel, food, lodging, and park entrance was $80 per person. However, there is nothing luxurious about this adventure! Once you leave the paved road be prepared to be jostled around and eat lots of dust! It seems like a... More

We were initially booked fora night at their Campement de l’éléphant which was rather disappointing in terms of infrastructure - the pool was dry, doors had no keys and the entire place had an un-kept look to it. This however was off set by friendly staff and the sight of elephants just 500m of the hotel. We then moved to... More

In the dry season you can not miss the elephants. The huts in the camp are very basic but the nature and animals are a very good compensation. The park is a paradise for bird watchers.

Nazinga Ranch is quite a long drive from Ouagadougou. The paved portion of the trip is easy and uneventful, but once you make the turn in Po, that all changes. The dirt roads are half the journey but take 80% of the travel time. Once you make it to the entrance of the Park you must pay a fee to... More

Comfortable cases, nothing fancy, basic food at the restaurant - but the chance to see elephants in large quantity! There is other wild life there but the elephants are the reasons why one goes there!
