Was part of our sahara explorer trip with Sahal Voyages, in the middle of nowhere, a bit tired looking but an experience if you a star wars fan. great photos they are trying to save money to save it. prefered the sidi driss hotel in matmata. this could be great if was made a proper tourist attraction with memrobillia around... If your a massive Star Wars fan like I am then the set will not disappoint. Parts of the set are falling apart but some work has been done and money is being raised to help preserve the site. Great fun would highly recommend

We visited the decors of Star Wars Tatooine movie set on a 2 day trip from Sousse. It is a regular trip to El Jem, Matmata, Douz and Kairouan - but you have to wish for the Star Wars visit as it is not included in all tours - some go to see a water fall instead of the movie... More

Neat place for the star wars freaks. It's quite small so be prepared to get disappointed after your 25 clicking of camera.

Matmata was marvelously prodigious. This attraction is stupefying for adolescents and mature beings. Matmata's show homes are an phenomenal attraction. The homes were extremely realistic; one feels bedazzled and that they are out of earth's exosphere and into the sandy, stupendous, superlative scene of Tatooine. The attraction consists of the two main parts of Tatooine; Mos Espa, and The Mos... More

If your a star wars fan this is a must see. Unfortunately it could be much much better if the Tunisians would maintain and build a full scale attraction around it. As it is there are just a couple of souvenir shops there and not much else. But the movie set is really neat(again, if your a star wars fan).... More

First thing I should state - I went to Tunisia expressly to visit as many Star Wars locations as possible. And the set at Mos Espa is the most full, in-tact set left in the country, making it a must see for any fan. I went with Tunisian Oasis Sahara Travel (TOST), based in Tozeur, and Martine really couldn't have... More

The huts themselves are a fun sight to see but pretty empty beside and they are quite remote. Could be more thrilling for a SW hardcore fan I suppose. But this is not the only point in coming here. The sand dunes around are really amazing. You can reenact all your favorite sandy scenes. Kinda wanted to do some Dune... More

Though we were with a guide that seemed to bring us only where tourist traps were waiting for us, this was a fun site. I did fall for one tourist trap, which was a couple of kids running to us with a desert fox on a leash. I could not resist how cute the animal was and accepted to pet... More

What's really great about this place is the surrounding area. The sand dunes are magnificent -look at our pics.. Also, the actual star wars buildings look right at home- clearly they were influenced by other Tunisian desert villages, so the whole ensemble is harmonious... no tourists during our visit which made it even better!
