We saw all of the "Big 5" with the exception of the rhino in our visit to Serengeti. (The rhino which is sadly facing extinction seem to be doing well in the Ngorongoro Crater, thankfully. ) In or around Seronera and southern Serengeti we saw leopard, lion, elephant, cape buffalo, hippo, wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, antelope, impala, wart hog, cheetah, hyena,... The dust and bumps are all part of the adventure. If you find it uncomfortable, remember it's worse for the wildlife you will see running for survival. Make sure you get the best driver guide you can afford as the good ones are worth their weight in gold.

It would be impossible to overstate how wonderful the Serengeti is. I know that different things appeal to different people, but I found the Serengeti almost overwhelming.

We booked our tanzania section of our holiday with Asilia. Our guide "Stanford" was fantastic for the 6 days he looked after us. The serengeti plains were one of the highlights of our safari. The number of wildebeast and zebra both with their young was mind blowing. Stanford has been guiding for 15 years and when he stopped to take... More

Overall an excellent experience, both during the planning stage (thanks to Godfrey and Paul at Youth Adventures in Moshi), and during the actual safari led by our very knowledgeable guide, Ben, and accompanied by our excellent cook, Habibu. We also visited Tarangire and Ngorongoro over the course of a 4-day, 3-night safari and were very happy with the whole trip.... More

The most vast grasslands I've ever seen (and I grew up on the plaines of the Midwest!). Miles and miles of open grasslands and a plethora of wildlife. The scenery is so beautiful and natural. The great migration was just ending but we still saw herds of wildebeests, zebra, a leopard, hippos in the hippo pool, lions. We camped in... More

The landscape and scenery are beautiful and of great variety. We saw all kinds of animals and got some great pictures. I don't know how you can go wrong visiting this area.

We just finished a 9 day safari in Tanzania with African Scenic. It was a private tour, just myself and my fiancee. First the good: Amanda's pre-booking communications were excellent, we wired the money and it was received without problems, we saw all the animals we had hoped for. The guide was very knowledgeable about the animals and familiar with... More

My wife and I went to Tanzania to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro to be followed by a four-day safari. We chose Popote Africa Adventures and we are glad we did. Sabino (owner) treated us as family. He was very professional and super friendly. Everything operated efficiently but with all the flexibility we needed. Our driver/guide, Anaeli, was fantastic. He knew all... More
