Summary of day 1 and 2, more to follow shortly Day 1: From the gate the trail into the rain forest immediately went up a steep hill, fortunately the trail became gradual quickly after the first bit of elevation. Our experienced ClimbKili guides immediately set an easy slow pace for us. We learned "pole, pole" which means slowly, slowly. This... More

We treked for six days and it was amazing to be on top of the highest mountian in Africa. There are six to seven routes you can take to get to the top, we took Rongai route and we had no issues with accomodations, food, toilet facilites etc as we had an excellent compnay looking after our group. There was... More

I had wanted to visit the Roof of Africa since seeing it in my geography book at the age of 15 . I still have that book which shows Kilimanjaro completely ice capped! There were years when it was a "go/stop" operation to climb Kili and eventually in my 65th year it became reality. A decision in November 2012 between... More

Good location to rest before the attempt. There were a lot of other climbers but the place felt spacious.

Amazing place. Best beds in the world I was asleep in no time and didn't wake up anytime soon. Meeting people who are trying to achieve the same thing as you for lots of different reasons makes the trip very special.

I can't say enough good things about my experience with Sabino Kweka and Popote Africa Adventures. The guides and porters who helped us climb were so very helpful - it seems that they anticipated our every need. And Sabi himself checked in with us often during our entire stay. He was able to arrange a safari for me on short... More

Mount Kilimanjaro is a massive volcano with three primary peaks - Shira, Kibo and Mawenzi. Kibo is the highest of the three and there are several different routes to get up the highest point - Uhuru Peak. I summited via the Machame Route on a 6-day trek (4.5 days up and 1.5 days down) and enjoyed the challenge, as well... More

Kibo means Marvelous. It's the hight summit and crater of Kilimanjaro. A climbing there it's a personal challenge. But It really worths. With the right company you can spend 7 days in Kilimanjaro with all the support. Landscapes that you would just see in pictures, you can see so close when climbing by Machame Route. The forest, the alpine desert,... More

What an experience. Real professionals. We had two experienced guides, a medical doctor, and about 65 porters for 20 Walkers. We all made it to the top , which we would not have done without such a professional team behind us. The most challenging experience, physically, emotionally and mentally that I have done, but so worth it! Add it to... More
