Beautiful

Spent some time here in our 3 days in Marrakech. There are some great photo opportunities here, and it was great to learn some Moroccan history.

The architecture is the star attraction of this beautifully restored palace, once home to an important minister at the turn of the 19th century. On par with the opulence of the Bahia Palace, the craftsmanship in this mansion is exquisite. The pillared and tiled courtyard is dominated by a massive chandelier, yet is tranquil with its three gurgling fountains. Two... More

Entry is only 60Dh (about £4) for both the museum and close by Medrassa (50 yds away). Also there is a very pleasant courtyard café inside the museum grounds. Spectacular buildings in the middle of the Medina.

If your seeing Medersa Ben Youssef then you just as well pay 60 dh instead of 50 dh and see two great buildings in the heart of Marrakech . It may be a small museum with no English but it doesn't really matter, the Museum is just stunning from the lights to the arches, windows and doors . Also lovely... More

It's not a big museum but it is nice to combine with a visit of Madersa ben Youssef. There is a small contemporary art gallery which has beautiful pieces in it.

I managed to find this museum on this trip to Marrakech, it's one we sadly forgot last time! The interior exhibits are not as bad as I had previously imagined after the descriptions, my favourite are the more contemporary and colourful pieces rather than the old pottery pieces. The star attraction has to be a very large centrally hung chandelier-esque... More

If you rate the displays you will probably score this as one or two 'stars'. But the real star is the building and the main courtyard with its amazing canopy. Forget the largely forgettable displays and focus on the amazing architecture. Before 1996 this was a virtual ruin, but now it is a worthwhile visit - and I would guess... More

Again, worth it for the building. It does contain some interesting information and things to look at, but the building itself is the most impressive thing. The museum also has an outdoor cafe that is so popular we couldn't actually get a seat, so I can't comment on that!

By the time we got to the Musee, I was too tired to see another historic sight, so I chilled in the garden with some mint tea. It was honestly perfect - a quiet, pretty place with birds and sunshine. The rest of the family enjoyed the museum, but they were more excited about the building itself than the exhibits.

This lovely museum is in the center of town. You can go to the museum and also visit the school since they are a short walk from each other. Tickets may be purchased together. Take a break from shopping and pop into this museum for a break at their cafe, then tour the building and grab some culture along the... More
