We found the tannery and it stinks which is fine but as soon as you enter a man gives you some mint to sniff and says follow me and I will take your pictures of you all, then he leads you through you actually do not need to be lead through, and then into the one shop that sells leather... More

we stayed in the centre of the Medina and thought we would never find our way , but it only took a day to get to know it . We loved it and the people who are so very gentle and friendly.

Advise - tour guides take you to certain areas to buy goods I guess this is how they make more money. Worth looking around the different Souks, but be prepared to haggle - personally not very good at it!

This is crazy with mopeds whizzing past, donkeys pulling carts and people begging. However, there are some axing goods. Haggle hard and walk away for a good deal. I got 5 beautiful leather bags for 54 pound.

We were staying in a Riad in the north of the medina away from the centre and the souks. We explored as many streets and alley ways to take in the true life of the Medina, other than the souks and the main square. A strange experience, on a regular basis, was that we were told that it was closed... More

Easy to get lost with all the alleyways. If you ask anyone for directions....prepare to pay. They won't help you for free.

Spend hours wandering the old souks. Stop and chat with the vendors who are very friendly when you take the time to give them the time of day. Yes, some sellers may be a bit aggressive but they are just trying to make a living, and bargaining is a game, so play along and you will have a wonderful time... More
