The Medina of Marrakesh is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and not to be excluded from any trip to Marrakesh. It is absolutely amazing! The entire medina is walled in red mud brick. There are so many highlights it is hard to pick just one. The main square is Place Djemma-El-Fna. In the square you will find makeshift dentists, snake... More

The Medina was extremely busy in the evening, unfortunately we missed out on seeing the snakes and snake charmers as they only perform in the daylight. The souks are all under cover, however they are made up of tiny alley ways and mopeds and motor bikes ride up and down and there is very littel room so you are often... More

The best Orange Juice I've ever tasted! Wish we had taken the plunge and eaten at one of the stalls one evening. More

When visiting Marrakech, you can not go without visiting the Madina! It reminds you of scenes similar to Aladdin, little stalls, shops everywhere with the smell of spices and leather, shop owners wanting to pursuade you to buy something from them even if you dont need it. You turn a corner and your in the square with lots of restaurants.... More

First visit can be quite daunting, especially navigating the souks, but just go with the flow, don't worry about getting lost and just enjoy the experience. Its like stepping back in time. More

Take your time to explore the Medina in detail! It's well worth it and the best way to get to know the city and its history. There are some official tour guides who know how to explain things and where to take tourists, but anyone can adventure on their own safely inside the Medina. A must see! More

Take a map and a camera and just wander around. People are generally friendly and helpful and not everyone expects a tip. You need a couple of days to cover the main attractions adequately. Registered guides are plentiful if you prefer to be accompanied or are on your own but ask at your hotel beforehand. More

I used a great book called "Shopping in Marrakesh" It was the best guide to find the most unique items and great shops....the shop keepers were so proud to be in the book. Kif Kif, the Marakesh Caftan Shoppe all in the book and as great a described....also the best, most accurate maps. Well worth 13 euros. More
