The best thing about Medina of Marrakech is that unlike Fes, it is very closely located to the new city. The new Marrakech is way cleaner and modern. The Medina has more shops than Fes and the shopkeepers dont push you or insist you to buy. Most of them speak English very well and if you know French wholla. You... More

I love this place, but I do have to say it is not for everybody. Dark little streets and alleyway, motorcycles, people, vendors, shops. food! All kinds of stuff. I felt safe though. Just be street smart and have fun!

Didn't go in the day time, but heard it was good to go at night. It was alive with people, circus acts, drama, animals, snake charmers.........Keep you wits about you. Didn't eat, but plenty of place to eat, ask for advice which number stall to eat at.

Amazing place that comes alive at night. Everything happening great restaurants over looking the medina. Great place for bargains always hammer them down half and little more then start your bartering with them. Must see and do experience of a life time. Just don't take own photos of monkeys or snake charmers or you will pay. Very safe lots of... More

Lots of incredible sights to behold in the Medina. The maze-like alleyways are closed to vehicular traffic, but that does not stop scooters and motorbikes from whizzing down the lanes as though there are no pedestrians in sight. The alleyways of the Medina are a sensory overload. Raw, non-refrigerated butcher stalls and everyday refuse do not do much to delight... More

Found the medina in Fes a lot more interesting and a lot busier. The night food markets are great and really good fun

If you're in Marrakech, make an effort to visit the Medina and have a wander around... yes, it can be hectic (expect to routinely be almost run over by motorbikes, donkeys and bicycles in the alleys between souks!) yes, some of the stall holders can be pushy and almost every single one will try to get you into their shop... The Medina is a fascinating warren of narrow streets lined with tiny shops offering all manner of goods. It is very easy to get lost and it changes quite dramatically after dark and on fridays when many the shops are closed so finding recognisable landmarks is difficlult. There is signage to follow but it is sometimes contradictory but the trick... More

Been here twice different times of the year Amazing at New year and Amazing in the summer, We stayed in a traditional Riad which was calm and beautiful, once you step out the door its like going back to biblical times, so much to see and really friendly people.
