We stayed in the Kasbah itself and the Medina was wonderful, full of so many photos opportunities, colour and atmosphere. It felt like stepping onto an Indiana Jones film set! People are so friendly in Marrakech and we didn't feel at all uneasy when walking around after dark. more

Morocco holds much more in terms of its cultural diversity then in monumental or architectural heritage. The pinacle of Moorish Art and Architecture is in Spain. Though there are definately some things to visit in Marrakech, namely: 1) Saadian Tombs, Baadi Palace, Bin Youssef Medressa and for muslims (as non-muslims not allowed in the following) Koutoubia Mosque, Kasbah Mosque, Qessain... more

Jama Al-Fna is a magical place and the culture jazz will take you to an awe inspiring new dimension which will stay with you for the rest of your life. Start off with a horse carriage to the square which will set you in the right frame of mind as to what is to come : Acrobats, monkeys, snakes, musicians,... more

Just back from our trip to Marrakech where we had a wonderful half-day trip to the Atlas organized by Isango. The guide was friendly (and happy to speak French for once!) and customized some of the attraction for us (we visited a "berbere"house on our request). Since we did not encountered any travel agency while in the Medina (we slept... more

Just back from Marrakech and although it was an amazing experience we found the haggling a bit much at times! Trying to get a taxi driver to take you to where you want to go almost impossible. Always agree a price first and be prepared to haggle over it. They almost always insist on taking you to the "Pharmacy" first... more

It was beautiful, noisy, fun, exiting and nearly everything else. You know you need to be open to different place in the world. Not every country is the same there is a different system and people are different. I found the Moroccans a lovely bunch. Always and I mean always willing to help, without asking for money and make you... more

Just been to Marrakech and stopped right in the heart of the Medina. Great Riad Choui Choui, a two minute walk to the Jemma el Square. We really enjoyed the trip, just be aware if you look lost the people may take advantage of you and try and persuade you to follow them to a shop etc. The lastest trick... more

The medina was an interesting and colourful experience where you could easily and happily get lost taking in the sights. But I am afraid as the sights are really all you want to take in. The locals are used to lots of tourists and you will pay quite a high price for the goods on offer (when they offer ASDA... more

...and probably the only way to explore the true moroccan culture or atleast of marrakech. Its best to start at a fixed point in the medina such as one of the main gates and head to one of the main sites such as the kotoubia for example so that you can ask people along the way for directions while also... more
