You'll be paying more than you could. But why not? And the salesmen are pestering you a bit, but only a bit. If you know a bit of french then use it. Much better then English. You'll get lower prices faster. And a happier saleman. I guess Arabic or Berb is even better. It's fun in the Souk of Marrakech!... more

It's a great place to walk arround and get to know the morrocans. They will seem very invasive at the beggining, but are all very friendly and polite - if you are also. Don't offer a too low price, since they can be offended. Try to negotiate reasonably. Don't miss the "souk des épices" where you can find great spices... more

The souks…what do I say… its never ending, its timeless, its like your walking through the markets where Aladdin got up to his mischief. But wow is it huge or what! You could end up walking for days and days! And you could end up walking days and days… and days looking for the people you came with because you... more

Everyone raves about the shopping experience in the souks of Marrakech... so on a recent trip to the 'red city', i was genuinely looking forward to the chance of landing some bargains. After two days i've come away with moderate disappointment. Maybe it's me, maybe my girlfriend and myself were going about it completely wrong, but the the promise of... more

What a shopping experience. Be prepared to bargain, bargain hard and bargain with a smile. Know the top price by visiting beforehand the Complexe Artesanale on Mohammed V where the govt fixes prices and you get to see the craftsmen working their goods. Then visit the souks and you know when you are being ripped off. Never pay more than... more

my wife and I really enjoyed the Souks. So much to see. So much life and charisma. We loved the bartering and got some deals (well we feel we did!) You see some talented people, old to young, working away. They welcome you, and seem to enjoy life despite us tourists thinking they have it hard. I found this concept... more

Step back in time as you wander the labyrinth of passageways; soak up the bustling atmosphere; be dazzled by the never-ending arrays carpets, lanterns, woodcraft, jewellery and fabrics, lose yourself in the ever-narrowing maze of alleyways as you try to find your way back to your riad - and brace yourself for the patter of some of the world's best... more

These souks are never ending and ur sure to be lost at one point or another. Its not that bad though...you can always ask ur way out of them. As for the main shops in the souks all there is are repetitive shops for woodwork, leather, traditional clothes and old stuff. Some good shops for souveniers, but I was expecting... more
