It is not a big museum and some rooms are very shady and can be disappointing, but there are some rooms which are beautifully decorated! And just because of that, worth going! Price is one euro. Maybe it is a bit hard to find, but ask someone.

The drab and unimaginative layout of exhibits was disappointing. The garden would benefit from more variety of plants. As an alternative, the Jardin Majorelle is more than worth the additional cost.

This was our Day 1 experience in Marrakech and we quickly came to realise that in North Africa in general their idea of a museum is quite different to the glossy, air conditioned, clean museums here in the UK - aren't we lucky. Having said that it was a very interesting place with some stunning architecture and history to it.... More

After visiting the two large palaces and being slightly disappointed, we stumbled on the Dar Si Said by accident as we were heading up to the main square. It has a small entrance but opens up into a beautiful house, packed with interesting exhibits that carry explanations in Arabic, French and English. It seems this place isn't on the main... More

Fairly easy to find if you watch out for the signs off the Riad Zitoun el Jedid. The ground floor exhibits were not particularly exciting; the courtyard is pleasant, with lovely scent from the jasmine. There is nothing particularly encouraging about climbing the stairs to the first floor, but this is well worthwhile as the tiling is superb, and the... More

Much better than the Bahia Palace just down the road. There did not appear to be the tourist groups going around this one however so it was much quiter, I guess the coaches can't get close enough! Good collection of wood/paint/mosaic work along with a reasonable selection of artefacts. A small pair of binoculars would help you to see the... More

Not a lot of exhibits considering it calls itself "museum of Moroccan art" but the building was lovely, especially the 2nd floor where the tileworks were amazing throughout. Toilet lady roams the courtyard, so if you need to go, make sure you have small change to give her.

The museum was fascinating to say the least. We are avid art lovers and so, this was an opportunity we did not miss. The art inside was admirable. The museum itself was a treat for the eyes. The museum was a bit hard to find but the struggle was worth it. The architecture of the place reminded us why we... More
