For a combined ticket fee, this museum is worth a visit. Though the exhibitions aren't huge, the restoration of the building itself is remarkable. Also interesting to see is Morocco's take on contemporary art, and to see how they have used the space as an art gallery in what once was the hammam of the building.

As a grand old house, this museum is housed in a lovely building even if at the far corner of the souks. Since it is next to the Medersa Ben Youssef, which is one of the best sites in Marrakech, it will pick up traffic--but not really worth the trip. It is a pity too, with so much great contemporary... Located in the heart of the old city, it was fun to walk to passing by local shops that gave a more authentic feel to Marrakech rather than the shops that lined the tourist hotspots. Entry was 40MAD which is £3 and gave entry to just the museum, for more money you could visit other spots close by. Be aware... More

Visiting Marrakech is an experience. For me, it was another world, and totally in a good way. And spending some time at the Museum was another affirming experience. A time to drink mint tea once again (maybe the best such tea I drank when I was there!). To take in the architecture of the building, which is as much an... More

For 60 MAD you get entry to 3 sites, with this being the first. The central square is beautifully peaceful and the hammam makes you wonder how wonderful it would have been when functioning. There is modern art around but i couldnt tell of its quality. I found it ok, but the star is the building.

I enjoyed this museum but more for its beautifully intricate fittings (doors and lights) and the gorgeous art work than anything else. A few little displays of fabric, weapons and ceramics but nothing too mind blowing. Some beautiful art works are displayed among the rooms and those were what I really enjoyed. Afterwards sit at the cafe for a delicous... More

The museum is situated in a restored palace which in places is quite beautiful. There is a stunning chandelier but very few interesting artefacts which is a litte strange for a museum. However it is totally spoiled by vast amounts of modern art on display. We would have preferred more artefacts and less art. OK for a visit on a... More

I would agree with the previous reviewer that there aren't many museums in Marrakech and this one isn't really that great as a museum but still, if you go with a guide you can have a nice tour, learn something new and get some insight into Morrocan history.

To be found on the east side of Place de la Kissaria in the north of the medina this museum was inaugurated in 1997 and is housed in a converted late 19th century palace. The museum exhibits - paintings and sculptures - change occasionally (and on the day were not very inspiring), but the surely the star attraction is the... More

One of the most awful museums I've vistited. Awful exhibition program and not even worth visiting for the building, which is suffering from a recent "restoration". I don't know how anybody can call this a museum.
