If you’re hoping for an advanced culinary experience then maybe Souk cuisine isn’t for you. However, for anyone looking for a simple introduction to Moroccan food, a chance to explore the exciting (but somewhat daunting) markets with a guiding hand, and a welcome break from the hustle of the city then Souk cuisine is perfect. We cooked a mixture of... More

This was the first cooking class myself & my partner had done & it was so so good. Meeting Gemma was great. We had a very small group of 6. & we each got given a list of Ingredients we needed to purchase from the souls. As Gemma took us around she told us a lot of interesting information &... More

We had a very enjoyable time during this class. The shopping for the ingredients in the medina was very fun as was mixing with the locals, learning about Moroccan spices, and seeing the community bakery. We made mostly salads, and a tajine and some pastries all of which were excellent. The cooks are local Moroccan ladies who speak no English... More

My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves during the entire experience. It was probably one of our favorite things we did while in Marrakesh. Gemma was very nice and understanding when it came to my two small children. She let my "princess" make the cookies. The class was an intimate size. We had a bad souq tour before and found... More

Having done many cookery classes the ones I enjoy best are the ones where you get into it and get your hands dirty rather than spending hours on demos. This offers exactly that. The group met in the main square and Gemma set us the task of shopping for the ingredients needed in the souks. The group consisted of 3... More

Amazing experience. I want to do a cooking class in every foreign country I go to - and I hope they are all like this. My wife and I learned so much. Getting to go to the souks first to buy all our stuff was so much fun and so helpful and educational. Gemma was the perfect host. It was... More

The difference between this cooking course and many others, is that Gemma starts you in the market. She has her list of ingredients and bags, and leads you to the different markets to purchase each of the ingredients. She has a great relationship with a lot of the shopkeepers who are excited to chat with us and educate us on... More

An fun and informative day in the market and in the kitchen with Gemma. We started in the market buying all the ingredients for our recipes for the day (don't forget - the uglier the lemons, the better) - if you want a true Moroccan cooking experience then you should definitely start by shopping for the ingredients, and it was... Really fantastic day out with my boyfriend. I cook a lot and thought the recipes we perfect for a novice or experienced cook. Starts in the morning with the group meeting in the square. The fantastic Gemma leads you around the souk to the local food vendors in a fun and educational venture. You then go back to her lovely... More

We had a fantastic time in Marrakech and this was one of the most memorable bits. From buying the ingredients to learning how to cook with them we found it all interesting , relaxed and very tasty.
