My boyfriend and I have just returned from Fes with a terrible experience of harassment by locals. The moment we stepped out of our riad into the medina young men started coming up to us offering their "services" as tour guides. I went to Fez souk with my boyfriend who speaks the local language perfectly. I would not recommend visiting this area until they sort this place out. The souk is nothing short of a place to extort money from tourists. Despite repeatedly saying no they followed us, prevented us from going up streets we wanted to visit and ganged together... more
