We visited in August. We wanted to head out of the medina to escape the heat and experience a small part of the Atlas Mountains. The drive was beautiful only hindered by the repeated stopping at various shops along the way. We always like to contribute to local areas but do not like being pressurised into doing so. We asked... It was a shame that such a trip to the scenic and beautiful valley was preplanned for shaking the punters for dirhams. We went with supratour excursions in a very nice AC mini coach. Quater way to the valley the driver conveniently stopped to a tourist souvenir shop and wasted 45 minutes until punters bought something. Than we stopped at... More

The best day to visit the valley is on Friday when all the main attractions are closed in Marrakesh. I would reccomend for you to hire a guide who will take you to visit the all valley. During your staying there you have the opportunity to visit amazing places, berber villages, waterfalls. During your walk you will also see local... More

The valley made a nice excursion away from Marrakech. We enjoyed a decent light lunch in one of the nearby restaurants (of which there were quite a few). Then proceeded to ascending the valley, which we weren't really prepared for. The trek up itself was not 'dangerous', but some in the group struggled and were out of breath very quickly..and... More

The drive to Ourika Valley was very interesting. We visited the Market where they sold everything from traditional medicine, love potions, carpets and meat! You must hold onto your valuables or leave them in the Car though!

Mind the climb up and down to see the waterfall though! Make sure you wear proper shoes as the climb can be difficult at certain points and slippery. Amazing place though and very very beautiful, definitely worth a visit.

Wow what a fab day out. It was firstly great to escape the heat of Marrakech. It was a cheap day out too. From our hotel we had met a taxi driver who was just lovely & he took us for the day for 500dh for me & my husband. Bargain! He clearly is patriotic and loves Morocco which was... More

We did the tour to the Ourika Valley which was organised by the Club Dar Atlas hotel, and I think we were very lucky that we had a brilliant guide. This lady was charming and extremely well-informed, particularly about the lives of the Berber women. We stopped in a really quite primitive, to European eyes, village and visited a typical,... More
