The valley made a nice excursion away from Marrakech. We enjoyed a decent light lunch in one of the nearby restaurants (of which there were quite a few). The drive to Ourika Valley was very interesting. We visited the Market where they sold everything from traditional medicine, love potions, carpets and meat! You must hold onto your valuables or leave them in the Car though!

Mind the climb up and down to see the waterfall though! Make sure you wear proper shoes as the climb can be difficult at certain points and slippery. Amazing place though and very very beautiful, definitely worth a visit.

We did the tour to the Ourika Valley which was organised by the Club Dar Atlas hotel, and I think we were very lucky that we had a brilliant guide. This lady was charming and extremely well-informed, particularly about the lives of the Berber women. We stopped in a really quite primitive, to European eyes, village and visited a typical,... More

So, I was supposed to be on a day trip to the Atlas Mountains, booked through Hilali tours. They put me in the wrong van, and I ended up in the Ourika Valley tour. (I sound like an idiot, but it all happened very quickly, and no one else in the van spoke english, except the man from Hilalii tours... More

The most incredible holiday experience- ever!!! We fell on this place by chance and it was the best 4 days of the whole trip. Our hosts, Bernard and Fabi Morin live 30 km out of Marrakech in the Ourika Valley near the Atlas Mountains. They have a wonderful bungalow, provide meals and wine and wonderful tours. Fabi's family has had... More
