Getting to the cathedral is like a story out of "planes, trains & automobiles". You'll definitely work to get to the church but once you do the view is spectacular and the cathedral itself is beautiful. Sadly no pictures allowed inside but well worth the visit. Try to visit on a clear/sunny day to make the most of the view.

Opened at 11am to 12.30pm and 3.30pm to 5pm. Go in the afternoon for better photo of the city. If you have a car, take the road above the church to get an excellent view of Bab-el-Oued, the best view you'll have of Algiers.

Yes, the view is great, but the church itself is nothing special. If you've been to Europe you've seen exquisite churches, with gilding and mosaics and paintings everywhere - this is not one of those churches. It's simple and has a certain charm, but don't expect to be wowed.

Stunning architecture, beautiful view of Algiers and a great place for getting quiet with Jesus in town. Worth the visit for sure.

I have visited notre dame d'afrique during the day and at night as well. the view at both times is breathtaking. the church is beautiful from the inside and it reflects the co-existence of religions, that is something you'll have to see inside. the father there was really helpful as well!

The city view is spectacular. The church is impressive. There is a nice yard where you can relax and view the city from above.

This old cathedral overlooks a beautiful location in Algiers. Great views of the Mediterranean from this hilltop setting. The facility is only open certain hours and days, so we couldn't get inside to see it. Still it is worth the windy, hilly, narrow drive to get there. I recommend it!

A very interesting combination of Cathedral and remembrance! Take the time to read the plaques on the walls, the dates that go back to early 1800's - very interesting!
