One does not necessarily expect to see an ornate Catholic cathedral in the centre of Algiers. The many ex voto tablets on the walls are very touching and the three-language message on the wall behind the altar is extremely touching. A small shop sells postcards, some booklets and a couple of CDs of organ music, recorded in the cathedral. The... More

ND d'Afrique is a historical place from the 19th Century. It is ideally located on the road from Bab El Oued to the West, overlooking Bab-El-Oued, Algiers bay and the Mediterranean sea. The church opens at 3pm. The Ex-Voto plates inside (thanksgiving marble plates) are worth discovering, celebrating many successes or recoveries from wrecks (a few ships models are shown).... More

Great views of the city and the bay. Worth a stop if passing by. It's not a location where you can spend hours.

So I had a trip in this town. An employee of the church told me it was closed even though it was Friday at 11:30... The view is nice and the atmosphere was nice too, children playing and tourists relaxing.

I had the opportunity to visit many churches around the world but there's something very specific to this one. Not only the location is breath taking but there's a real magic once you enter there. One of the most beautiful and peaceful places on earth!

The Church is beautiful but what stood out for us were panoramic views of the city and the bay. We took local buses which were inexpensive and easy to use.

Norte Dame cathedral was beautiful inside and a scenic views outside. A nice stop when in Algiers. There is a quaint gift shop inside to purchase post cards

A great place with a wonderful view. This is a must to see if you are in Alger. Use the cable car if it is open (when I was there on Sep. 2nd it was closed)

I visited this cathedral in June 2015. The ride was scenic and windy, because it is located on top of a mountain. I didn't get a chance to go inside, as it was closed at the time, but I really enjoyed the views of the sea and very nice breezy shades while sitting on a bench under a big tree.... More
