I'm not a motorcycle person, but this museum helped me appreciate the history of motorcycles much more. I believe they displayed over 400 bikes, and did so in a creative way--not just a line-up of them. The displays provided great historical information, and related memorabilia. Plan to spend about two hours, and visit their gift shop, as well.

Tons of motorcycles, motorized bikes, even a good collection of bicycles. Lots of memorabilia, costumed mannequins, gift shop. So much to look at - I'm sure I missed a few things.

I've been here several times in the past 5 years and enjoy the time I spend in the museum. The first couple of times the site was in downtown Anamosa in a building that appeared to be a converted department store. It was rather crowded but the bikes and displays were wonderful. The new location is much better. It's larger,... More

If you like motorcycles - this is the place to visit. They have every kind imaginable - even the ROADOG. I think it was 17 feet long. Check it out on google.

My son and I stopped at the museum on our road trip. Many different motorcycles and styles of their riders. According to the plaque signed by Peter Fonda the only real Easy Rider motorcycle is located there. Also, the Von Dutch motorcycle as seen purchased by American pickers is located here. Really fun remembering motorcycles that were a part of... More

This is one fantastic place! Really fun to see over 400 bikes and all the historical signage that goes with the brands. Really old cycles are fun to study, very nice people and cool displays. You cant go wrong!! Just a heads up, the Super 8 motel across the street is really nasty and creepy. Would look for another hotel... More

If you like motorcycles this is the place to visit. The front desk people were all volunteers and everyone was very friendly. If you are a veteran let them know and they will reduce the price of admission. The collection of Evel Knievel memorabilia brought back many fine memories of my childhood

We visited the museum for the first time yesterday, and I'm sorry I waited so long. They've assembled an excellent collection of bikes from the very beginning to modern day. The museum is well organized - it starts with racing bikes, ranging from obscure Spanish enduro bikes to hillclimbers to land speed record vehicles. The racing is mostly U.S. oriented... More

I was surprised to find such a cool place in the middle of Iowa. Who would have thought? This is the real deal, though only if you're into motorcycles. Excellent collection, with a wide variety of bikes of all makes and ages. I was impressed. What I'm not impressed with is the hours. Close at 5pm? Better get here early... More

This was my first time at the museum. This is a hidden gem that is a must see for any motorcycle enthusiast. Covering years of motorcycle history, there is a little something for everyone. It was interesting to see the number of motorcycles either on loan or donated to the museum. I even saw a motorcycle that was featured on... More
