our first visit to Reiman

This was an excellent way to see a variety of native Iowa plants as well as those you would typically use for landscaping your home. The butterfly building was awesome.

As we were travelling across Iowa, we were looking good for a place to get out and stretch our legs. I came across Reiman Gardens on the map, so we decided to check it out. What a pleasant surprise! Beautiful building, fantastic staff and 14 acres of lovely plants all in a peaceful surrounding. The Children's Garden was awesome and... More

We had to stop here because they have the best collection of Buck roses in the country, which is not suprising since Dr, Griffith Buck was a renowned faculty member at Iowa State. The garden as a whole was very good including a nice butterfly house. The visitor center is modern and the staff very friendly and helpful. My wife... More

Fun place, indoors and outside. Nice outside gardens with Dr Buck roses and other plantings. Indoor be sure and see the moth cocoons and butterfly chrysalis, 2 gift shops, indoor gardens, and the butterfly room. We saw 2 of the Giant Atlas Moths the last visit! Great fun for young, and old. Always stop here and at Cafe Milo when... More

I met a friend for a afternoon visit. We enjoyed walking around the grounds and talking. Well maintained. Very quiet on a weekday afternoon.

I was on campus for a competition and had a few hours to kill in between programmes. So I walked over and spent a good couple of hours at the garden. It is split up nicely to 3 parts: an indoor butterfly enclosure, a glass house display and the outdoor garden. There was a great variety of flora and fauna... More

My 1st visit to a delightful place !! These gardens are associated with ISU. With the wonderful support of Wisconsin residents Bobbi and Roy Reiman in 1995, all the horticulture gardens on campus were moved here and have been expanding ever since. Their mission is to educate, enchant, and inspire appreciation of plants, butterflies, and beauty of the natural world... More
