Nicely done for a smaller casino. The staff is wonderful! Nice place for a quick gamble. Just need more tables games open.

I played at Prairie Meadows for about 2 years while I lived in Iowa and found it to be a fun place to play! If you are ever in Iowa, it is worth a trip for a number of reasons. 1) The variety of games offered is quite eclectic, with most tables offering 5$ minimums. It is easy to have... More

One of the best casinos I've been to when it comes to separation of smoking and non-smoking areas. Too often, the non-smoking areas have very few machines but this was not the case here, it seemed to be well balanced and...well attended in BOTH areas!

1st time visitor, loved the race track and loved the casino. Soft drinks are free, alcohol is not. Lots of slots to play, and tried the buffet - had excellent prime rib on it, $16.95 all u can eat. Will be going back!

We visited Prairie Meadows specifically for the horse races, this was my first time and I was very impressed. The facitlity was great and accomodating, you could watch/bet inside or outside right in front of the track. We had to go through the casino to get to the track and back inside so the constant showing of our ID was... More

I haven't been here for several years, but it's still my favorite casino in the Midwest. Payouts on video poker are good. The buffet I'd very reasonably priced and the food quality is very good. My wife, a slots player, also enjoyed the range of games. We'll be back.

I stop at most casinos on my travels and I give this one praise for having a decent sized non-smoking section. There seemed to be plenty of places to eat and the live horse racing track would have been great to visit if I had been there during a race day. I would stop by again if I were traveling... More

I went here while visiting my sister's family in Des Moines. Prairie Meadows is a very big complex, and even has live horse racing. We ate at the buffet, which was so-so. Pretty much standard fare, the food was okay, but nothing special. The casino is very large, but many of the slot machines seem old and outdated, and it... More
