From clock making to beer brewing, Aurora has a long and interesting history. On display are many artifacts including the bones of a Mastodon found in a nearby lake. While there walk across the street to the GAR Memorial Hall for Civil War soldiers. Currently under restoration the inside is not open, but many of the artifacts are on display... More

I love this museum. It really gives you insight into the history of the area, Aurora in particular. We need to know more about our area.

This is a unique museum. There are main exhibits that stay year round. There are new exhibits every few months, also. Focus of museum is that of authentic Illinois and Aurora history. An interesting place that we enjoyed. I like the museum store there, has many made-in-Illinois items.
